    [Energetic Trance] Orange Sky

Alright, so its been a while since Ive made an original track, but this time Ive hit the mark .

This is a really cool energetic trance song using sweet melodies to fire the track up. I posted it on a local forum, and a local DJ here in my city is gonna play it at his sets and what not. This is a huge step for me since this is the first time Im gonna get some exposure like this.

I really hope you guys take a listen, and I really hope you enjoy it . Let me know what you think.

Also, sorry for not being around all too much and reviewing stuff.. I need to make some time for that one of these days <_<

I don't know what it sounds like because the file size is way too big, over 20 MB in memory (hot damn!). Maybe you can make the file smaller or upload it online?

I can't lie to you man, I don't care for this at all. I think my big thing is it's repetitive. But also, I don't like the main synth sound, it's just too ringy and bleh for me. Same goes for the counter-melody. However, I LOVE the driving bass sound, it really feels good. Another thing I love is those drum hits in the background at the end.

I think if you made it shorter (goddamn the end is long as ****) and changed the main synth to something less ringy this song would be something truly special.

EDIT: Woops forget to say the piano is alright, but it feels, I dunno, empty.

post-dumps abstractly represent the existential nihilism that the song invokes in the listener with negative space, evoking the ephemeral nature of the mind - the journey of stepmania begins in hope yet soon becomes corroded into a dialectic of futility, leaving only a sense of dread and the unlikelihood of a new synthesis

the bassline with the hard hitting bass sounds like something i would hear from a hardstyle track. i love the melody about half way through, i don't know how to describe it but its a blast to listen to.

the second half of the song was amazing. good song, make moar

Well the LONG intro/outro is for mixing purposes, I could easily just shave like 3 minutes from the track from those. They are there for mixers.
2, its HUEG because its 320 kbps.. I decided to just release stuff at 320 these days, so people have high quality versions.

            Ya, 320 is awesome quality.
Make a shorter version (2:00 or 1:35) so we can enjoy it.
Orange Sky sounds like a title for a calm song, this song is completely diferent.

Used to produce 320 as well, but when the files began to get big, I switched to 256 (which is almost just as good).

It doesn't sound repetitive at all, especially for a trance track. I liked how the melody always seemed to be changing.

I agree the piano does sound very empty, almost unnecessary. Everything else sounds really well-made, great work.

True trance fans know that repetitiveness doesn't matter, but it's the energy the song puts out.

Good energy = good song, that's all that matters.

Excellent example of repetitive music with good energy is Yoji Biomehanika.

Yoji Biomehanika really pushes those limits, though. His music is purely for clubs, especially Rain.

I'm all for energy in a track, but melodies are WAY more important IMO. Listen to Andy Blueman's tracks, the melodies themselves put energy into the song, which is a lot harder to do than to just pull it off with a loud bassline.

All depends on what the track is meant for. Yoji Biomehanika makes hard trance, which calls for heavy basslines.

Darude makes normal trance, which calls for a good melody.

So, different types of trance call for different types of appeals.

Look at Sandstorm, in the middle of the song it seemed like a climatic synth was about to come, but it ended up being the same the melody. But that didn't affect how good the song was, it was still kickass. So it's your personal taste. Don't get me wrong though, I like climaxes too, but it all depends on the song's purpose.

That will definately deplete the song's energy then lol.
