I often find that I'll be sitting at home with nothing to do. This gets annoying, because I really hate boredom, so I thought I'd start a thread where people can post interesting things that can be done to avoid boredom. So post whatever you think is fun, weather it be juggling, some free videogame, or even a prank that you could pull on an unsuspecting friend/enemy.
To start off, I've got a cool videogame that you can download for free. It's called Marathon, and it's the predecessor of Halo. In fact, Halo has quite a few elements of this game in it, and makes many references to it. It is now open source, and you can download it for free. Just follow these steps:

AlephOne is the emulator for the Marathon games. It's the middle set of boxes, make sure to choose the correct one for your operating system.
Next, download Marathon from the same place. It's the first box, the one with the word "Marathon" on it.
After that, you'll need to unzip both of the files you've downloaded. Then duplicate the AlephOne application and put it in the "Marathon" file. Finally, open AlephOne (the one in the marathon file) and start playing.
You may want to check the controls in the preferences before you start playing. I set move forward to 'w' backward to 's' sidestep left and right to 'a' and 'd' and trigger with the mouse button and 2nd trigger with the left mouse button. Make sure to turn on mouse control, unless you have a laptop and want to play with only the keyboard. Also, set the graphics to full screen mode, and a higher resolution.
Also, there are other scenarios (like the second and third marathon, durandal and infinity) that you can download and put the alephone app into. You may want to try some of these.
And there ya go. Have fun! If you have trouble, there should be places online that tell you how to do it.
