Apparently poems are all the rage today, so I figured I'd scribble up a couple of my own. I already know that I need work, and that there's some awesome poets here who I'd love to get tips from.
About this next one, it should be okay by the rules, but I'll remove it if it's proven otherwise.

Broken Home

Tainted blood swims through his vains
A little boy is struck with pain
In bright red ink, the doctor notes,
"There may not be an antidote"
His parents couldn't give a damn
They let him eat that spoiled ham
Been in the fridge since ninety-four
He takes a bite and hits the floor
From outside the broken home
Hate is heard, I pick up the phone
"Nine-one-one? I need the cops.
They're killing that boy, and it needs to stop."
Without a pulse, without a prayer
Countless scars and torn out hair
They swear to me that they will strive
To keep that little boy alive
Yet, as fate would have its way
A fragile soul departed today
His parents torturous apathy
Became an example for all to see
This kid's life was filled with fright
I'll take him with me into the night
Into the sealed kingdom afar
His soul will shine as the brightest star

These stiffs in suits hate guys like me
Who snatch stuff and refuse to pay
And yet I do it every day
I've got five hard drives full of goods
I share it with everyone in the 'hood
I'll prob'ly get myself locked up
But I don't care, so I keep it up
