    Token-Artist support Suggestion

    i highly doubt something like this could be done, but you never know. its really getting more into "stepmania style" than "flash style". what if we had an artists permission, and we could pay for the song to be put in ffr, but only for yourself, as in a custom. you buy the song and then you have full privilages of what the steps are. example:

    i buy Inside The Fire by Disturbed for ffr
    in a new genre, there is the song.
    select the song, and there we have the option to click again to play or off to the side click "edit" and we can edit the steps (or more, have an option file alongside the original steps)
    after editing, another player that has bought the song can share steps with you.


    its kinda like sm, but theres no cheating and its an actual database where the scores are auto-recorded alongside other users.
    i dunno, im throwin ideas out there. i can tell you i'd pay 10 times as much for 10 times as many songs for this than anything else. maybe you could do something to where a pack can be installed onto your pc and it can be loaded through ffr's engine with the steps?

    i feel stupid for writing this, but whatever, itd be a neat idea to step your own songs for ffr, and maybe sometime far in the future this can happen.

      This sounds incredibly hard and expensive to do. The payoff would be minimal if they followed through on this.

      Also, I had to read your post like 3 times to finally understand it. If you want people to like your idea, use correct grammar.

          it would be hard to do, but artists would be supported even more...possibly reeling more artists in? like i said, i feel stupid for writing it. just a neat little thought to think this could happen.

                  You say scores would be recorded in FFR? You say users would be able to upload their own steps to the songs?

                  So what is to stop two people from buying the same song in this way, and one of them making some ridiculously easy steps, yet with tons of arrows, so that the combo/scoring can be way up there relative to everyone else who had harder steps and/or just different ones?

                  There is no consistency here if there is to be competition among people and so it isn't viable unless I misunderstand you.

                  Also, there is already a money-making idea thread. You probably should have posted this in there rather than starting a new thread.

                      This would ruin the entire point of the queue batch system.

                      This would ruin the whole "stop the crappy simfiles" thing this game finally got the hang of.

                      This would mess up all score recording systems.



                      Just do this in SM. We don't need it on FFR.

                      However, I would like a list of all the song titles we have permission for, separated by artists.
                      Any FFR song title discrepancies? List them here.

                              I meant a more detailed version that displays who is working on what, who has stepped which songs in what pack/game (if any), and what songs have not been touched.

                              But I know that's not happening, because no one is bored enough to do that. I meant it as a joke. I think I would know all the stickies by now... =(
