    Writer/director M. Night Shyamalan will definitely be following up his June blockbuster contender, The Happening, with Paramount’s adaptation of the hit Nicktoons series Avatar: The Last Airbender. The ambitious live-action film is now due on July 2, 2010.

    Mike made it clear that at least the first live action movie is a very faithful retelling of Book One: Water.
    So just in case you missed the panel at Comic Con, you can watch the Q&A Session there and other clips. I think it's going to be great, especially since the original creators are both excited and trustworthy in Shyamalan's ability to make the first movie. I really can't wait.

      No seriously though, I really could not stand Avatar at all, but even I can see that M. Night Shyamalamadingdong directing it can't be good.

          avatar was far better than some generic wap anime go back to downloading 5 anime movies about girls using super magic to save the world in pink bunny suits when they magically transform bye

              I always found it strange that Shyamalan was rumored to be directing the Avatar film...I mean, it's hardly a horror/suspense story. Now that it's been confirmed, I'm going to follow this with reserved curiosity.

                              That's the great thing about directing. Directors can direct any sort of genre of film they choose!

                              I personally am looking forward to this. Not much else to say with such minimal information on it, but for now, I'll have faith that this is a worthwhile endeavor.

                                  I don't know if I'm excited for it, but I'd watch it. Shyamalan isn't completely disappointing, and so far I like the Avatar series.

                                  I'm thinking it'll either be really good or really bad.

                                          I don't really think that Avatar is an anime show. It's just a cartoon show, but I freckin love it and even a bad movie wouldn't take away from it's awesomeness. Still, I'm not going to hope that the movie will suck. I'm curious as to how this will be.

                                                          Never got into this show, hell; I've never liked any Nickelodeon shows since the 90's. Ah...those were the good ol' shows and days.

                                                          Lol, but just because he's directing it, I might try to find some bootleg torrent that has it when it comes out. =D
