Writer/director M. Night Shyamalan will definitely be following up his June blockbuster contender, The Happening, with Paramount’s adaptation of the hit Nicktoons series Avatar: The Last Airbender. The ambitious live-action film is now due on July 2, 2010.
"It will be tough to keep it PG from PG-13," he said about doing a PG family film. "It will be tricky. I don't know how to make a PG movie so that's going to be much harder, because with R, everything was no problem."

Mike made it clear that at least the first live action movie is a very faithful retelling of Book One: Water.
- Paramount is planning to make it a trilogy, with the first Shyamalan directed movie currently using the working title of Water.
"Casting has begun and we've seen thousands of kids. I believe we've found the next superstars," revealed Shyamalan.
