    I was wondering how ranking worked.

    So I noticed the new the achievement token, and decided to get my AV rank down, even though getting it under 1000 is out of the question.

    Anyway, I was wondering: If say 3 people got the same score on a song (say a AAA), would the next highest score get ranked as 4th or would it be 2nd?

    I'm wondering because I'm playing through all the old hip-hop songs that synthlight stepped, and I'm confused as to why I'm getting a terrible rank with a decent score.

    Any help?

    EDIT:: Also, can you share rankings above 1 if you have the same score? I.E. two people get 999,970 out of 1,000,000 points. Do they share the ranking?

      Probably 4th. So just FC all of the songs even if you have to mash. Most people do not mash songs to FC, but if you do then you will be ahead of everyone. Older songs mean more AAAs usually. So if 500,000 people AAA a song then your 50 goods will make you 500,001. :/

          Go to your level ranks and mash the hell out of all the songs for fc's. Once you have around 330 fc's then you should get below 1000. Trust me, 2 weeks ago my average rank was 8000 and I had like 200 fc's. Now it's avg rank 935 and 350 fc's.

              Thats not the point Beethoven, the point is the question I was asking about how the ranking system worked.

              Also, I don't want to get a good ranking by mashing, I want to get better.

                  your assumptions are correct.

                  If 10 people AAA a song, then getting a score of 1 good would get you rank 11. By getting a good rank, your lowering your own average rank, while raising anyone elses with a worse score.

                      Thanks, it was bothering me why my ranks were so bad for a decent score.

                          Wrong. The next possible score is 1 boo, not a good.

                              Technically if no one got 1 boo, then he could get rank 11.

                                  I was just mentioning the next highest possible score under an AAA.
                                  If you put it your way, then we could just say that no-one got 1 boo, 2 boos, 4 goods or anything for that matter, end up with a score of 1000-12-4-0-5 and get a rank 11.

                                          Lol, I read ryan's post and was like 'nuh uh, it's 1 boo.' Then Destiny extreme ninja'd me. So ya, the sad part about it is that if a million people AAA a song and you get 1 boo, you'll have rank 1,000,001 instead of 2 which it probably should be.

                                          EDIT: Psh, Destiny. that score is impossible to get on any song, so your theory is completely false. (I'm just poking fun at sayuncle. =D)

                                              I thought 1 good added points and 1 boo subtracted points through the total score.

                                              Edit: under 1000 average rank isnt currently or maybe not ever going to be a achievement token.

                                                  True, but if you get all perfects, 1 boo would only subtract 5 points, while 1 good would "subtract" 25. This is because the good is replacing the perfect, while the boo is just kinda hanging out.

                                                      oh i see. Because perfects are +50 and goods are +25 or something. Yea that makes sense. boos subtract 5.

                                                          perfects are +550, goods are +275, boos are -20. i know you're talking about in-game points... but nobody uses those for anything.
