Wanted a staffer or experienced member to proof it and make sure there were no problems with it:
EDIT: Revised email.
EDIT2: Revised again, my real name edited out for purposes of it being here. It is fully contained in the actual email.
EDIT3: Rawr. I'm having some problems today... :S
Good day.
My name is **** ***** (username Seefu Sefirosu).I am emailing you in regards to "stepping" one or more of Blind Guardian's songs to be used in a game called Flash Flash Revolution.
Flash Flash Revolution (FFR) is a take-off upon early versions of Dance Dance Revolution (DDR), i.e., DDR for your fingers. DDR is a rhythm based game where you hit arrows in time with the music using your feet. FFR is a variant of that where you use your keyboard arrows to hit arrows in time with the music. "Stepping" is when arrows are synced up with a song, so as to be played in FFR or DDR (FFR in this case).
I was considering stepping part or all of "And Then There Was Silence". However, I acknowledge that I need the band's permission to use the song first. As you probably well know, there are three types of permission I can obtain from you, if you give any at all.
A) Permission on a per-song basis. You must be contacted with each song to be stepped.
B) Permission on an album basis. You give us (the FFR userbase) permission to step songs from one album, to be specified by you.
C) Blanket Permissions. Any song released by you can be stepped at the will of whoever is stepping it, without contacting you.
These permissions can be revoked at any time by you (the band and/or representatives thereof) if they happen to be given in the first place.
If, in the above parts of this email, I have told you anything you already know, know that it's probably just to make sure everything is understood.
Also, know that this earns FFR NO MONEY. At all. In any way. The songs are not being sold and the songs cannot be downloaded or redistributed. FFR is a free-to-play website.
Thus, I am making a formal request, on the behalf of the FFR userbase, to obtain blanket permissions to step your songs. However, ANY permission given will be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
