So barely anything on the internet is working now.

So a lot of things hasn't been working on my computer when it comes to the internet.

Like Google for example, if I try to do a search or try to view my inbox in Gmail, it won't let me, the page never loads, or it just resets.
Also in Google, if a search does make it to the next page, the links given direct me to some other search engine, and then I have to copy the link instead of just clicking and re-directing you.
This actually goes for every site like Google, Except Yahoo doesn't load at all now.
Another website where it won't load at all is Myspace, it does, sometimes, load on internet explorer, but when it does, it loads extremely slow.
And for some reason on Myspace, When I tried to log in the last time the web page loaded successfully, it said "I had to be logged in to do that"... I had to be logged on... to log in, makes no sense at all.
Also in youtube,it's not really a problem now that I'm kind of used to it, though my cousins aren't, when you want to watch a video when your on the homepage, you always have to click stop and then click search or the video, I don't know why it does that I'm wondering what I can do to fix that.
Oh oh, and now FFR, there's just one thing that's going wrong in FFR, in the game, everything works fine, but you can't go to multiplayer, if you try to connect, it'll just stay, and neverrrrr connect.I left Mozilla open for about, 4 hours while I went to my cousins house, and when I came back, it was still trying to connect, before it connect right away, now it's not doing anything at all.
There is so much more things that happen like the websites won't re-direct, clicking something won't do anything, and a lot of times crashing.
Worst part is it happens on all my web browsers, Mozilla, Internet Explorer, and Opera.

There's also something wrong with my virus scanner that keeps bugging me. Every time When I turn my computer on, it always give me the "Your unprotected, automatic updates have been turned off" message. I don't understand why I keep getting this when I always turn it back on and save changes. Here's a picture of the icon, no message, just the icon telling me "I'm unprotected."

I've done virus scans and all, I just never find anything. I have no idea what to do to fix all of these things.
And I do clear the cookies and cache, that's obviously not it.
    Seriously, what do I do?

p.s. I have no idea where to place this, sorry if I put this in the wrong place.

You most definitely have spyware and/or adware. I had the same problems with browsing and those warnings until I used:
    - Lavasoft Ad-Aware 2007
    - Registry Mechanic
    - SpyHunter 3 Security Suite
    - AVG Free Antivirus 8

    Now my computer works perfectly~
I recommend you try the above programs. Some are free, others you can try before you buy.

Yeah, definitely malware. The tools SnS suggested should do the job (try Ad-aware first); if it's still acting weird after using those, try Spybot Search & Destroy.

This should be an easy fix. The reason your computer is acting strange is probably because of a virus (most likely a trojan horse). You have it (them) because your virus scanner isn't updated and it can't detect the new strain.

Click start > Control Pannel > Security Center. I know you said you tried turning it on, but it didn't work. Just try again this way and let me know if it works.

if it dosen't work just follow the above posts
I personally recomend AVG Free Edition

Any links to the adware websites? I tried to go to "sully's" link but it won't load.

            strange, works for me.
just go to www.download.com. on the right side of the page youll see "popular software". AVG is the first one on the list.

another one I would recomend that I use is Spybot Search and Destroy. it's number 11 on the same list.

So I tried to download the adaware. I got to the page and it went to the pop up saying would you like to save and when I click save, again, nothing happens,
I also tried with AVG but the same thing happens when I try to save the file.

Yeah, it's probably best to save them from another computer and transfer them to the infected computer. Or, you could boot up in Safe Mode (restart and repeatedly press F8 until a screen with boot options appears; choose Safe Mode with Networking) and try downloading that way.

I'll try to download it in safe mode, hopefully it'll work.

So I got Adaware finally to work and I did a scan, found out I Did have malware and I got rid of it. but the websites still do the same things, is there something more to getting the internet to work like it did before or should I just restart the computer?

Well yeah, restart then if it persists I'd recomend running the scan in safe mode.

Thanks so much guys, it all works now after scanning and refragging this morning, the websites are working, google works again, and I can finally go to MP in FFr.

But one last thing.. is this something I should be concerned about? When I restarted the computer, this came up, I don't what it is. Is this bad?

Well, it's hard to say, but from my experience, not having a .dll in your system32 is really bad news.

Unless the malware you deleted was so malicious that it installed a .dll in your OS, I'd be on the look out for some problems in the near future.

I'm not saying you absolutely will have problems, but the last time I lost a .dll, my computer slowly started getting worse and worse until I couldn't even get past the Windows screen on a boot.

I don't mean to scare you though - for all I know, it's a worthless .dll anyways, but like I said, if you notice any problems, I'd put money on that being it.

If you have a manufactured computer, back up and factory restore it now. If it is a custom built just backup and reload os. Make sure you have all your drivers first :P
