Firstly, I apologize if this has been discussed before. I looked but didn't see anything on it. (Then again I do see a lot of vaguely-named threads)
(I try to make my thread titles self-explanatory and clear.)
If, while cycling through the genres, I click on the Token genre (looks like an upside-down L symbol) I see a bunch of unavailable slots and then FFR freezes.
This happens 100% of the time so would qualify as an easily-reproducible bug.
A box pops up which says "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script? Yes/No". BTW, if I choose the option to kill it, I then am quickly able to close Internet Explorer. If I choose the other option, Internet Explorer crashes and it takes some time to pull up Task Manager to kill it.
I am surprised this issue wasn't placed in the common issues sticky thread as I would assume it happens quite frequently to people.
My guess is there is a serious memory leak somewhere near there and it eats up RAM fast. It could either be a bug in the FlashFlashRevolution program or some bug in the Flash plugin itself. My guess is it is in FFR though.
System specs should be pretty "standard" with Flash Player 9, Internet Explorer 7, Windows XP SP2, 512MB RAM. There's no reason it should be freezing up like that. I realize the RAM could be larger but there's no reason it shouldn't be working with 512MB RAM.
I see in my profile that I have some tokens, so I thought I'd try going to Token genre and freeze freeze freeze. I realize the songs it lists are ones available in Skill genre, but then what is Token genre ?
Regardless, it shouldn't be freezing like that, even if I don't have anything available to play in it.
Someone please tell me this is happening to other people and well-known.
Again, I'm sorry if this has been discussed already multiple times but I didn't find any such discussion.
