    So I'd like to switch to spread...

    I'm an index player, and everything I've eh... "achieved" so far has been done by indexing. I'd like to switch to spread though, to become better. What songs would you guys recommend to 'learn' to switch from index to spread?

    This is a Max Forever replay I just did playing spread, to give an idea of how bad I am :P (my left wrist hurts a LOT though... fell while snowboarding)http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...play/15356383/

      Here's my advice:

      Practice on spread for a month or two. If one position doesn't work for you just try a different set of keys. Spread is arguably the best position to get good at.

          i agree. i learned spread shortly after i got on ffr. learned zx . / was my best key setup.

          as for learning it. start at the first song in dance and go down the list in order. thats what i did and it was effective as i was moving up thru the difficulty of songs. also try to get used to playing on 1.50/1.75. it's a big difference.

              When I switched to spread I couldn't even FC the mario song the first time.. lol.. Anyway, If you want to become good quick I suggest playing some songs in the Very Difficult Bracket for some time until your PA on them is acceptable OR you can do like me and start with the For Beginner's Songs way at the bottom and play them for the AAA's and make your way up that way. This way will allow you to see your improvements more clearly and know when you're ready to move up a song difficulty.

                  I play one handed, left hand. I'd say you're doing good. There's no chance in hell I could get a 100 combo or better playing spread.

                          Thanks a lot for the input guys!

                          I started on dance 1 page 3, going up, playing most of the songs, and just got a blackflag on That Technic Vibe. I think I'm sticking with spread :P Think Difficult is about my spread skill level atm, I can do Losing Touch quite well, just had about 6 misses and a few boos.

                              Try using my keys. C V , . It helps me NOT push any stupid button like one of the windows buttons that messes me up and loads up the start menu.

                                      Personally, when I switched from Index to Spread last month I was already capable of FCing Very Difficult songs on my first time. Now I could pretty much FC Very Challengings and a few FMOs with Spread. I play on the numberpad (2-4-6-8)

                                      Just play any songs you would normally do with Index. If you feel confident enough, try some easy Spread files like: Seven [Dance2], Youkoso! Himitsu Suzume Bara ya[Dance2], Tamborin Chinois [Classical], {Frozen}[Dance2], etc. Experienced Index players can easily FC those few files I named.

                                      Note: Not sure if I got a couple of the song spellings right since I didn't check the list of FFR songs, lol.

                                          When I switched to spread I was still a noob so I whored the heck out of Secret Zombie Room. However, since you're a better player than I was at the time I recommend sticking with a lot of the VD songs in either D2 or Rock.

                                                  I think that the keys used are to each person's preference. I don't see the need to recommend keys. <_<

                                                          I play spread... I just switched within the first 2 weeks of ever playing FFR from a one-hand style. So yeah, it's the bomb.com style of play.
