    From Experience

(to all musicians)((might stack questions as well))

From your experiences what would be the best program to start off with when it comes to music creation?

I tried using programs like Fruity Loops XXL before and it was just so confusing. I was not able to find tutorials that were for simple beats etc. so I just gave up on it. But as I get closer to college I really want to become a music engineer, so im trying to gain as much side knowledge as I can before I head to college(currently in 11th grade high school). So please someone help me. ^_^

FL Studio lol. It really is the best to start out with.
    Maybe try Reason 4?

      Re: From Experience

As hard as it may be to believe, FL Studio is one of the more intuitive professional DAWs in my opinion. I started working with FL back when I was in the 7th grade, using Fruity Loops 3. Yeah, as a 7th grader.

Back when I was just starting out, I remember I had every Cool Stuff project memorized on sight and sound. You can learn an insane amount about production just from studying those projects. Also, Internet.

            Re: From Experience

Try doing the FL demo first and fool around a little bit. You'll get the hang of it.

Personally, I picked up FL because I'm the one who likes to fool around with a video game before picking up the manual. I found FL's help topics to be useless overall, anyway. If you're the patient kind, go ahead and work with Reason.

Well I still have FL studio. I guess I will try and use it. But are there any sites in which help you through the beginning of FL studio and teach you every detail to the program?

I was thinking as soon as I get the hang of FL I will buy my own DJing equipment and start to DJ on the side. Maybe catch a gig here and there just to get my name out there(locally of course).

You could try silexz-studios. Me and Arcsynth got one or two bits of useful information out of there.

Edit: I forgot the link. Let me see if I can find it.
                Edit2: Found it.

I may have said it wrong, but what I'm trying to say is that FL is more for those that like to fool around to find information. This is basically why I didn't like the Reason demo: 20 minutes isn't enough to get the information I need.

Lol finale won't do what he will want. Although I love it. Believe it or not if you think Fruity Loops is confusing, IMO it's the most simple one that's any good.

Ok so those forums are made specific for FL studio or a different type of music making program?

If any of you guys are willing to message me to explain a couple of things/gimme some tips I would greatly appreciate it ^_^.
