    Should the Pats' undefeated season be marked by an asterisk?

    I ask this because in one of their games they taped the opposing team's hand signals, so they knew who the ball was going to and everything. My classmates have debated whether or not that game should've been forfeit or if the fine was enough.

      They only taped a few plays (4 or 5 IIRC), and then proceeded to whallop them twice this season. Honestly, does it really matter? They got penalized by the NFL, the NFL decided not to forfeit their game, use an asterisk, etc., so why should we judge otherwise.

      Howie Long made an interesting point on PTI that the only difference between the Pats and the rest of the NFL is that the Pats got caught.

          I agree with you. I don't really know all the details of what happened, I just know the fact that it did happen. Besides, the Patriots have proven themselves to be one of the most pwnage teams the NFL has ever seen.

              they didnt even get to use what was filmed... the videos were destroyed before halftime.

                  This topic always gets bloody on the ESPN boards. Goodell said himself that the tape confiscated by the Jets didn't affect the outcome of the game.

                      Right; the Patriots got caught. But as sort of stated above, they haven't won any games through cheating. They won their games through good coaching, hard work, and talent in the players, just as in any other team. No asterisk necessary.
