It's not the governments fault if a hurricane hit them. I can understand if family members were lost due to lack of government help but unless they can prove that they shouldn't get a penny for deaths and not a single person should get a penny for damaged property. Did they expect captain planet to stop the hurricane therefore saving their homes and it's the government's fault they didn't bring him in?Comment

Some of us (and yes, I live right above New Orleans) don't really have a choice. It's not as if we can simply pack up and go elsewhere, since not all people have the resources that would otherwise allow them to relocate.
Yes, the claims are ridiculous, but they are -nearly- justified by what was an equally ridiculous natural phenomenon.Comment

every area of the world has their own form of natural disasters. west coast has earthquakes, midwest has tornados, south has hurricanes, northeast has snowstorms.
other parts of the world have tsunamis, etc etc etc.
if they want money, they should have had homeowner's insurance or other similar insurance, in which case they'd have the money and not need freebie handouts from the government.RIPComment
