    Yay FANFICTION

any writers out there? If you like to write short stories go to the website www.fanfiction.net and post your story.
It will get reviewed like crazy and you become a better writer
If you do write a story about an anime or video game tell me about it cause I like reaing peoples stuff so if it's something I've seen I will review it.
Please, whenever you post a story on fanfiction (IF anyone ever does which i highly doubt) Please tell me.

    Re: Yay FANFICTION

Fanfiction.net is full to the brim with no-talent twits who have zero originality and resort to using pre-produced concepts and characters as vehicles for their hideous plots, which are usually based on their sexual fantasies concerning homoerotic relationships. A Google search for "gay porn" usually cuts to the chase a bit better than fanfiction.net.

Jared, there was nothing wrong with the synth chardish fanfic or the spongebob one.

Yah, I was going to say that fanfiction.net is actually a good site because it sucks up all the bad fanfictions in the world and put it all in one place. I've known two-three good fanfictions, all of which were for Dune.

        Man were they good.

          I wrote a decent story once, just a little 5,000 word one-shot.

No, your fanfiction isn't nearly decent. It's terrible beyond words. That's why I'm going to comment with only one word, you can find it in the link:

They're good fanfics out there. You just have to look. Really, really hard. And for days. Months even. So I like real books better.

Well here's a really good Rurouni Kenshin one.

It's crappy. Want a hint as to why? It can also be found in the title:

                Broken Pieces

To be honest, if the author of the fan fic was unoriginal enough to think of a good title, they may as well name it "Rurouni Kenshin: A Story". The author uses a typical angsty teenager idea of a cool name. His story is probably filled with the same angst and "emo" for lack of better word.

                Also, they are?

Did you even read it. Or did you just look at the title and judge it.
And just because it's a little depressing it doesn't mean it's Emo.
It's really good writing not that stupid 13 year old yaoi crap that is all over the ff.net.

And you know what. Screw you. I love this fan fic!

Everywhere you go there's going to be newbies and stupidity.

Also, nice POSITIVE outlook Tokzic. Though I'm sure this thread was intended for people who used fanfiction for a little more than homoerotic thrills, sorry Tox

Though I'm not too supportive of the whole thing, as it creeps me out, I like the idea that it offers a place for people to work on their English, and express creativity. I hear that fanfiction can be rather addictive, as 75% of my friends read/write it regularly. :P

Man, was I straight on then. See how much I could tell about Fanfics based on their title? You are correct that I didn't read it because if the book doesn't leave me with a good impression based on their title, I'm not going to read it unless I was forced to or if I could gain something from it.

Fanfiction is the cancer that is killing the internet. That is not to say, however, that there haven't been decent fanfic stories. It's just that 99% of them are ridiculously bad beyond words.

I'm not really into Fanfics anymore, although I wrote quite a number of them when I was younger. Once in a while you'll find a good one that's worth reading, but the general lot of them are written by 12-year-olds with very limited vocabularies, a thin idea path, and atrocious spelling.
Basically, FanFiction.Net is a good place for beginning writers to "grow up", and then in the future, approach realms that require higher skill and bring forth their works.
