    File Testing

    Okay. I'm quite sick of all the people in the Queue/Batch Discussion Thread asking for people to test their files.

    If you want one of your files tested, post about it here. State that you have a file you want others to test and give feedback on. Testers can PM stating they want to test it, or simply post here, along with their e-mail address or something so the file can be sent.

    There is also a list of people who are willing to test any file sent their way being created. If you wish to be one of these people, please state that you are willing to, along with your e-mail and your experience with stepping (preferably stating what color tester you are, as well [find out below]). If you want a file tested, this can be the first list of people you can look at.

    Regular file testers (39) (people willing to test any file)

    Key:
    Prolific stepartist (10+ files) - Red
    Stepartist with some files in-game/queued (5-10) - Orange
    Stepartist with a few files in-game/queued (1-5) - Blue
    Stepartist without a queued file - Green
    File tester with little knowledge/experience - Black

    If a tester wishes to be PMed when a file is sent their way, an asterisk will be next to their name.

    If a tester is only willing to test files from noteworthy people (people who are not new artists, rather, people who have high experience/knowledge of stepping), their name will be marked with a plus sign.

    If a tester wants to be sent an IM (such as over AIM), a ^ will be marked next to their name.

    Keep in mind that testers may not be able to play every file sent their way; people can be busy.

      I don't got any files to test/ I wanna test but anyone got recommendations on what song to step? Bored kid over here that needs stepping material!!!

                              I think anyone who has a file in the game is pretty reliable. It shows that they at least have some grasp of what the judges are looking for in a file, and what makes a file good in general.

                                  Just do what I do and browse through artists in the Artist Blanket Permissions V2 thread (http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=68438). It provides a lot of links to artists that we have full permission for, so it's useful.

                                  Mmhmm, that could be useful. People who need their files seriously tested could turn to people who know what they're doing much better (mainly people with files in-game). Still, if someone just wants to generate opinions on a file, I still find that random people (who know at least what they're doing, they just don't have to be an amazing stepartist) could help.

                                  Mostly. But I think if they have only one or two files, one of their files has to be quite good (like your 600 AD in piano).

                                              edit for the below poster: I have 1 queued file, 2 if you count 1 that was rejected solely for song dislike. I am a decent file maker, I just don't have the patience to spend hours stepping one song.

                                              Also, I am willing to be a regular tester. I would say I fall into the blue group.

                                                  I have an idea. Instead of having everybody post something like "I'll test! -insert e-mail address here-," how about we have a list of people who are always willing to test files on my first post? This way, people who need their file tested could simply look at the first post in this thread, see which people are file testers, and they could just send the file to that person from there.

                                                  There could also be indications of whether a person is a prolific stepartist, has a couple files in-game, has submitted files but none have been queued/some random person with some knowledge of what would make a good file, or a completely random person who just wants to test files. This could help people who want people with certain experience to test their file. These people can be indicated by their name being in a different color.

                                                  This could look something like:

                                                  File testers

                                                  Key:
                                                  Prolific stepartist - Red
                                                  Stepartist with a couple files in-game - Blue
                                                  Stepartist without a queued file - Green
                                                  Willing file tester with little/no knowledge - Black
