    Best Music-Making Software.

Hello, fellow FFRers. What do you suppose is the best music-making software out there (for a PC). I am willing to pay a maximum of 400 dollars.

Your best bet for your price range is FL, Reason, or ACID

Ok, thanks, Pyroshock. I'm sorry I didn't look around, as I could have found that thread easily.

Look into Buzz Machines for an amazing and free DAW. It may take a little getting used to, but the potential for Buzz is literally limitless, and it comes with a great selection of synthesizers.

I use FruityLoops and Reason. I like them alot. Especially for the kind of music you wanna produce.

FL Studio 7 is my favorite, but I've worked with Reason and it's not bad. ACID is nice too, but FL Studio is nice and simple and easy to learn while still sounding great.

                use it please

If your just starting, I would definately try Fruity loops above all others. It's the simplest to pick up and it can still be a very powerful program if you use it well.

                        windows sound recorder.

But seriously, it's really a matter of preference, which means asking which program is better is pretty... useless. Regardless of what anyone says, most (not all, there are some obvious lame ones) music-making programs are extremely powerful and limitless.

FL probably takes less time to get used to, and is way more powerful than most give it credit for. And it's pretty cheap, so that's my personal suggestion. But what you should do is download the demos of a few programs and check them to see what suits you best.

Yep, don't underestimate FL studio. It takes VSTs too.

If you like to use Trackers rather then sequencers, Renoise is the best of the best.

Hey man, I've been recording and mixing music for ten years, and the best by far that I've come across is Reason. It has everything you could find in a recording studio, all on your computer. The only thing is it is so realisic that you kinda have to know what your doing to be able to do stuff, but once you get the hang of it, you'll start whipping out the best stuff you've ever made. Plus it doesn't bug up or freeze very much, and I've never gotten a virus from the expansions and additional downloads for it. But Definitely, use Reason
