Try to stay index, the best advantages over spread are the one-handed trills. I'm in the top 1000 and I play index, I don't know how many exactly do...index isn't sucky, those scores are really good for how long you've been playing, especially delirium.

index is fine if you are really good at it and from the looks of it you are pretty good, oh yea and im in the top 1000 and i play index, but im a bit confused at the part where you said people switch to 1 handed eventually? thats harder than index.

-1 is index really sucky? NO
-2 are those scores good for indexing? depends how long youve played lol
-3 what are benefits over index with spread? one handed trills
-4 how many people that are within top 1k play index? alot
-5 given my so called talent with index, should I continue or switch to spread? i used to plaay index but now that i switched to spread in i can FC alot more challenging songs and very challenging songs

K well first of all, I also play index, and cia rave is very simple index

i can almost AAA (1good),

index is a very successful way to play (look at IzzySM on youtube) and arch0wl,Nu0n ect..

Index can do better on songs like {Rose},{midnight} ect..mostly index made songs

Im ranked 323 and i play index, Nu0n is ranked 88

I would say witch to spread, You have mroe benefits and can do ANY song instead of just index patterned songs

O AND BTW IzzySM is the worlds best indexer so i advise you to check him out

Id say im a pretty decent index player, getting 5 misses on delirium and ci is not tht impressive at all lol

There might be a little bias in some of these responses, seeing as all of them I've seen are index, and continue with index.

From the time I started to about 4 months later I played index. It was alright, and I was in the same difficulty area as you were. (I could get around the same score as your delirium)

But in reality, now that I've switched to spread I don't see how scores would be capable on some of the songs I can play now. For example, you were talking about Delirum. That song has lots of weird jumpstream and crossover parts, which is probably why you can't FC it right now. There are songs even worse with jumpstream, not to mention stuff like 32nd rolls, and other things next to impossible with index.

So, index isn't necessarily bad, but you can only go so far with it. The moment you switch to spread, you'll be helping yourself in the long run. Then it only takes practice to overcome things like one handed trills and runningmen.

BTW, Nu0n (Someone mentioned him above) switched to spread. Rofl.

As it's been stated many times before, One handed trills are easy for index players.
On the other hand, jumpstreams generally destroy index, unless you've been playing for a REALLY long time, but even then, they aren't pleasant.
As for spread, on handed trills are gay, but jumpstreams are pretty easy once you get used to them.
One handed...well...I don't have a lot to say about that, but somehow, you can get DAMN good at it >.>
I play index and have been trying out spread on SM for a while, but I'm going to stay with index, just because I find it's a little more fun. Others insist that spread is more fun...so you should spend a few weeks (or days) trying out each style and se ewhich you improve fastest on.
And for only playing a month or less, 5 misses on both CIA and Delirium is incredibly good.

hey thanks everyone who actually tried to/did give me a piece of advice, I think it will really help me

still not sure if ill switch to spread, might though
I think ill practice spread a bit and compare scores, ect... with index and again thanks
