I've always played with one hand. Now that I'm starting to get into more difficult songs I'm starting to realize that it might not be possible to do this and I might have to start from scratch and try a two handed technique. Am I right in assuming that I'm going to need more than four fingers as the songs become more compicated? If so, then this blows.
One handed won't work forever huh?

Re: One handed won't work forever huh?
It's better that you do, but it's indeed possible to pass alot of the songs that a seasoned two hander/spread player can pass 1 handed, but it takes more time to gain speed/stamina 1 handed. Switch to spread.. -
Re: One handed won't work forever huh?
Hahaha, I just went through this. Trust me, I tried off and on to learn it for months. Then, one day, I watched my brother play Blank Knowing, and he explained to me how he did the cascades in it. After he was done, I sat down, and went from not even being able to full combo Secret Zombie Room to nearly AAAing Blank Knowing.
So, it's a painful process, but trust me, it's VERY worth it. I was a one-handed player for almost 3 years, and after playing spread for only months, I have tripled my AAAs and tripled my FCs.Comment

I did the same thing about a week ago. Its really not hard switching to spread. Each day, you'll break more and more of your own records the more you get used to the setup. It didnt take me but like 3 or 4 days to get pretty used to it. So yeah, definitely do it. I was in the same boat.Comment

Yes, this is true. When I started playing FFR, I was one-handed. Once your skill increases and you start to play songs that are more difficult, you kinda switch over to two-handed gradually.

Re: One handed won't work forever huh?
You won't be starting over from scratch. Your skills in one hand will allow you to become much more skilled much faster than if you had played 2 handed from the beginning. For instance, when I played index for the first time, it took me 2 hours before I could FC very difficult songs.Best Scores: Love-Colored Master Spark AAA, Mute City Remix AAA, Over the Rave AAA, TGWP3 3 good.
I'm not good anymore.Comment

Re: One handed won't work forever huh?
Actually, it's possibly to get really good with one-handed. It's simply way harder and longer. The faster you switch to spread the faster you'll get used to it. For the Time Played/Talent comparison go for spread although a really good one-hander is more impressive in my opinionComment

You couldn't even FC SZR after playing for 3 years?! Sheesh, only after one year I was able to AAA. =\Hahaha, I just went through this. Trust me, I tried off and on to learn it for months. Re: One handed won't work forever huh?
Sure spread is easier than one handed but you can get just as good one handed. I remember when Piano Etude first came out, I had to like mash it lol. Now I can a lot of combos in it. My points is that you have to give one hand some time and a lot of determination in order to get good. That's what I think.Removed a .gif image so your total signature size isn't well over 1MB. Keep this in mind for the future.

Re: One handed won't work forever huh?
This is exactly what happened to me. About a month ago I found that I couldnt beat Difficult+ songs with one hand, so now I'm index. I can get a million on FGO's

Re: One handed won't work forever huh?
i know one hand and spread, one hand was my first style, but i decided to learn spread as well, i use one hand for fun and tournys most often but spread is basically for skill tokens and getting good scores"The Communist vision is the vision of man without God"

Retired, Finished at rank 295, Top one hander on FFR
