In the end, he left peacefully and in no pain. In the years he had fought this, he taught me much about living and about facing death. He never waivered in his faith, nor questioned our God’s timing. I could not possibly be more proud of anyone. I am eternally grateful for the time that I had with him on this earth and look forward to our reunion, though as I told him this afternoon, not yet. I love you bubba.

Our beloved Harriet was at his side through the entire fight and to the end. The last words from his mouth were to tell her that he loved her.

Thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support through this ordeal. He knew you were there. Harriet reminded him today that she was very proud of the many lives he had touched through his work. We’ve all felt the love that you’ve been sending my brother/cousin. Please keep it coming as our Harriet could use the support.

Jason will be posting funeral arrangements.

    My sincerest thanks.

Peace and Light be with each of you,

    Wilson

I mean, all sympathy for his family and so on, but the bastard died before he finished the freakin book!

17 years he's been writing that series, and now it is left to his family to whom "he told all of the significant plot details shortly before his death" to finish and publish the thing.

We'll miss you, ya old goat, but you could have written this instead of those Conan novels eh?

Damn, I thought he didn't have health problems. I guess that was old news.

Not to be cynical, but if he spent less time describing clothes and more time writing the books, maybe it'd be done by now.

I only read the first two books. I have the third book in my personal "library," but I never read it. Just not enough time. I just don't think I could get into the books past the fifth one from what I've heard about them. Overloaded with detail and little plot. Supposedly the 11th book returns to the series' awesomeness, but, well... too much reading to get there.

^you've got a point there. Too much description and less action. The story line itself was superb but the unneccessary description.... I just got hooked on the series some time earlier last year and i was waiting in vain for the last book so it wouldn't come out? I bet ya, he's simply in hiding to get away from all the freaks (not in a bad way, I mean horrific fans) knocking on his door.

damn... i wanted to finish that series... 1 book a week, and it still took forever to wait for the last book that wont come

MixMasterLar, I feel really sorry for his family. Actually I was really moved to learn he'd died, and we probably all were, but you know, this book series started at least 15 years ago! RJ had us wait a loooooong time and I can't help but feel a little angry and disappointed at not being able to know the end of the story....yet ? *hope*

For people who just started the series in the past two or three years, I can see being a little annoyed at -their- annoyance. But there are some people who read book 1 -SEVENTEEN- years ago. Most of the people on this forum complaining about the series were likely not even -alive- at that time.

And when he takes 4 years to write a book, and in the interim writes three other unrelated books, you start to get a little more than annoyed about it.
