In a global sense, third world countries don't matter. People like to pretend they matter. But they don't. There isn't anything significant about a third world country. Poor starving people? We have that here in the U.S. Where's the humanitarian effort to help starving and diseased Americans?
Tell me Bono, why should I care about Africa? Why should I care about Iraq? I've never met an African. I've never met an Iraqi. But I encounter dozens of homeless people a day walking to and from school.
So, let's stop this half-assed "oh, I care about the third world" sh*t. The only people who give a f*ck about the third world are the assholes exploiting it's cheap labor and natural resources, and it's in their best interest to keep the living conditions as impoverished as possible.
