Hello, in addition to stepping esc, I am stepping The Crow's Newspaper by dBu, but it says ask rebirth first, what do they mean?

Re: What do they mean ask Rebirth?
It means you have to ask rebirth for permission to use the songs.Comment

it means that if you don't understand simple instructions, you aren't going to be able to do complex things. like make stepfiles.RIPComment

Re: What do they mean ask Rebirth?
lol or hes just clueless and dosent read anything he dosent need atm >.<
anyways you have to get the song authors permission before you can step the song because if you step the song and the author dosent approve they can sue you and make a big full witch i dont think you wantOriginally posted by MinaciousGraceSee this is what happens when terrible players play terribly and beat even worse players and then start to think that they have valid builds/strategies/~*~theorycrafting~*~ etc.^ Have thought about it, Have tried it, They throughly enjoyed it, Nuff saidOriginally posted by rushyrulzYou know you've played too much FFR when you're tempted to try it on your partner's privates.Comment

Re: What do they mean ask Rebirth?
I want people to tell me when they step dBu songs. I want them to let me know before they step it, and I want to see the simfile after they finish and before they submit it to Tass. I'll test it and if it's a piece of crap then I won't even consider talking to dBu about it. If it's good, then I will, and then you can send it in.Comment

Re: What do they mean ask Rebirth?
Well said.I made TGWP and as such believe myself to have an amazing sense of stepping ability, though rather than be humble about it I shall parade it about by acting elitist and even trying to make myself be above Tass and Shash by trying to force people to send files to me before them.
I put myself above FFR by saying what should go into FFR or not, I don't honestly care what FFR or the community thinks, so long as I feel the simfile is good then it should be fine. Did I mention how I appear to have a tad sense of superiority in there somewhere, no? Oh, well I do.
I mean honestly, this is supposed to be about FFR, the community. What the general public want in order to make FFR better for everyone. This isn't about you trying to grasp some power by being the only person to decide if a dbu file should get in or nto. Get off your goddamn high horse.Comment

Re: What do they mean ask Rebirth?
He just wants to make sure the song is onsync, because dBu stuff is pretty tough to sync well with the nonconstant bpm.Comment

Re: What do they mean ask Rebirth?
No, what he's saying is that he will talk to dbu if he likes the file and if he doesn't like it then he won't get permission for it. He is basically saying that he is the only one who will decide if a file gets put through for consideration or not. Nothing to do with it being on sync.Comment

Re: What do they mean ask Rebirth?
No, you're wrong. What dore said is right. Most of the dBu songs I've seen simfiles to had a bunch of bpm changes to make it onbeat, or it had a single bpm and got offbeat at some point in the song.
dBu is one of my favorite musical artists, so I'd like to see great files with the music. I'm not really doing as much judging as you say I am. The only judging I go by when doing this: is the file an absolute piece of **** or not. If it's somewhat good then great. If it's a good file but it's offbeat, I might sync it for the person before I give them the okay to submit. I have to talk to dBu about it whenever we put a file into the game, and I don't want to bother him with talking about it when the file is going to be bad, and likely rejected by the judges, so I'll look at the file and see if I think it would be accepted by the judges. Then I will talk to dBu
Alright, so I am judging the files but for a better reason than what you thought. You can think whatever you want about me but you're wrong. I want more power? If this is true, I would want to be a simfile judge for FFR. Well if I was offered that I would turn it down right now. I certainly don't want to play a bunch of simfiles every week when most are going to be crapComment

Re: What do they mean ask Rebirth?
I read all that and could easily say something but I'll not as per what Chardish has said.
Chardish, I can see what he is saying I just felt he was putting himself above the community, which I dislike. I've no reason to take anything up with staff, so no worries.Comment

Re: What do they mean ask Rebirth?
I'm in agreement with Rebirth for similiar reasons.
It helps weed out the 'crappier' dbu submissions for the main judges, so that response really wasn't called for.
PM me if you find the secret.
