Re: Friends think playing ffr will make you worse at ddr
It's factually NOT true.
Playing FFR (as well as ANY music-timing game involving DDR's arrow scheme) will only help you to respond to the arrow scheme more quickly as you practice seeing patterns in arrows. It will also help your Perfect timing.
If you stop playing DDR completely, you will obviously get worse just because you aren't practicing and you'll get "rusty". But that has nothing to do with playing FFR. That has to do with NOT playing DDR.Comment

Itll help until you play FFR up to the point where it equalizes the difficulty of Heavy on DDR. After that, being able to comprehend the arrows wont do much more since you can read them all.Comment

it makes you be able to read so much more
and ddr seems way easier when you play it cause to me, ffr is faster in general.Comment

I would say it for sure helps you read notes. Being able to move your body accordingly is purely dependant on your physicality. So, unless you play so much FFR you become a fat sloth, I don't follow that logic. Like said before, NOT playing DDR is the easiest way to lose the DDR touch.

it helps your reading. it also helps any other 'falling objects' types of games. like.. that piano beat master game.. and that percussion master game. it just helps you to read the notes better.Comment

FFR definitely does NOT make you worse at DDR. I started DDR first before ever knowing about FFR, and I could only play up to Standard on DDR. However, after starting FFR and even being able to full combo the easier songs like breaking the common, I was able to move onto Heavy soon after, all because I was able to read the arrows better and time them much better.

I can only do 11s because of FFR... I used to not be able to read the patterns on DDR at all, but now my reading skill has surpassed my footspeed.Comment

Playing FFR/SM increases reading speed. That's about it.Comment
