Yes, him too. His death was a favorite sceen in my household.
My dad actally meet him, talk about a mama's boy. However this thread is not about bashing Broderick, but Freeman did a better job!Comment

Re: Movie "Glory"
I just saw it recently, funnily enough.
I thought Matthew Broderick was totally unbelievable, though. He was overly hesitant--I guess from the post-traumatic stress he seemed to gain at the beginning. Too bad that part of his character just completely disappeared halfway through the movie.
Plus, Morgan Freeman's character seemed to come from nowhere. They showed him a couple of times, but all of sudden he was promoted, and his importance was put in retroactively.Originally posted by Henri PoincaréThe scientist does not study nature because it is useful to do so. Re: Movie "Glory"
Was relesed in 1989, I was a year old and my pops took me to see it. I think it's a good movie, not the best ever, but good.
Broderick's stress didnt disappeared halfway through the movie, it simply changed. He channeled it more with anger later on.

Re: Movie "Glory"
Broderick's character was supposed to be a puss. He was this sniveling scared little nothing given a troop of former slaves who were doomed to always be the first into battle because they were black.
Through the course of the movie his character changed because he began to feel close to his men, felt responsible for them, but also realized he had a duty and if that duty was basically to be a shield for the "more important" white soldiers, then so be it -- for the preservation of the union and all that.
Great movie.Comment

yeah,
but their not all called "Glory"
Favorite sceen is the battle of Jacksonville, the one in the woods. Love the hand-to-hand fighting, though it isnt the best. Also love the last sceen alot, right after Broderick is killed, how all the solders run and attack.Comment
