I don't want to play a cheesy looking game if i don't have to. So i was wondering if playing KH:Chain of Memories helps understand KH2, or if it was just an offset game.

Who cares about KH:Chain of memories, I got both. Trust me play KH2. KHCOM does not do anything to the story. Well barely. Not much. Not worth your time.

Are you kidding? Chain of Memories was an amazing game. If you want to have fun you should get it, but it won't affect your KH2 exprerience.Comment

i looked at the story from KH2 and all it truly said was KH:COM was just how eveyrone lost their memories and about axel...i dunno...truly i think i will play KH:COM so i have played all the games...Comment

I thought the game had potential after beating Chain of Memories but as it turns out, Kingdom Hearts II sold itself out to cutscenes and totally ruined the fun of the game.
It's better to leave the story as it was at the end of KH.Comment

If you like the story, then play CoM. If you like button mashing, play KH2.Comment

The Graveyard at the end of KH2 made no sense to me (well vaguely since it referred to The Organization) so I had to go back to KH:CoM to understand it. If you want a little clearer view of KH2, play CoM.
