    Anthem and Animal Farm

Hey have any of you read the book Animal Farm or Anthem? If you have.....let me hear your input. Thx.
Why is life confusing? Why can’t it a book and we just abide by the black ink? We make the errors. But we correct them. Too bad life is like a game. Everyday is new. I <3 my life! No drama at all. Finally! Jk. I make tons of errors. Like a flyball in the infield, looks straight up into the sun and gets hit on the head, should have caught it. I made up for it tho being the best shortstop a great double play a dive and a catch and throws it straight away. OUT AT 1st! I win the game.

Yes I've read Animal Farm, I read it because I was going through a "George Orwell" phase while having to read 1984 (along with A Handmaid's Tale [Margaret Atwood]) for a coursework essay.

              It's a good book.

I'll be honest. I didn't finish either of the books despite the fact that they were required reading for English Honors and IB. They didnt really hold my attention, though very few books do.

AF is your standard "farm animals satirize Russian Revolution" fare. Nothing more.

                        Re: Anthem and Animal Farm

How is Animal Farm confusing? It comprises of an economy of animals who all live on a farm, they all emulate people in real life, such as the pigs representing modern communism in Stalin and Lenin. The other animals represent other styles. The pigs take over (Russian Revolution as Chromer said). It's Orwell's way of taking a shot at these people.

                        Not that confusing.

IT's all about this pigs isn't it. I mean I think Orwell wrote it a little blunt. There is like no excitement not that the Russoian Revolution was exciting or anything but it's a book.

It's not all about the pigs, the pigs end up in control but it's about everyone, the economy they live in. Explain how it was written "a little blunt"?

No excitment? Meh, I found it exciting enough to read through in one sitting, maybe it's not jump out of your seat exciting, but it's sort of "oh, that's interesting" exciting.

                            Different books for different people.

Anthem was an amazing book, and basically gives you Ayn Rand's complex form in a nutshell in only 100 something pages. If you like Anthem when you finish it, then pick up Atlas Shrugged for a much more complex version.
