dont tell him how cus he wants to learn to mod on halo 2 im sure of it
Nice job, Sherlock.
Well.. get yourself an action replay so you can transfer saved games to the memory card. Look up "the usual places" and get the correct saved game for the game you have. Load up the saved game.. it will start installing the softmod. Then from there you can FTP files to the xbox.
Well, rare earth Neodymium magnets are around 1.8 Tesla. Weak ceramic ones are around 0.35. So it's gotta be sufficiently large. Mainly, like you said, to avoid a weak field just modifying some pieces of information on its field "lines" (a stronger field has many more of those lines and will cover areas more thoroughly).
I don't have much experience when it comes to buying magnets, but if you get a pair that can clamp onto the top and bottom of your dinner table (assuming, roughly, an inch to an inch and a half of thickness), you oughta be good. That is, you don't need an electromagnet or anything.
Oh, and one more thing, they're weak anyway, but DO NOT use refrigerator magnets. They have their poles bent back on themselves so that both poles are on the same side (that's also the reason that only one side of them will stick to your fridge). That will permanently screw up your box if it's strong enough.
