I just got back from the hospital yesterday from getting 12 stitches on the left side of my head. Heres how it happened...
Sunday, at about 5 30 pm, i was playing FFR on my xbox-modified dancepad via usb jack. After i warmed up and stretched (which is always a good thing to do) i decided to play some random song that i havent played in a while. I browsed through the dance section and saw nothing that interested me, so i moved to the purchased section and clicked on night of flight. First mistake-- i had forgotten how the song went and the long, strenuous one-ee-ands there were. After i had restarted the song a few times to actually get the rhythm in my head, i actually made it past 10 seconds. Now i felt like i needed to complete the song.
After about 15 minutes of starting, losing, restarting, i decided to take a break. Once i came back, i started again. When i finally got used to the song, i started on this very long streak.
100...
200...
300...
Getting tired...
400...
500...
Numb legs...
600...
700...
Wondering how much longer this run is...
800...
900...
1000...
This is about the time where i realize that im getting very dizzy. But i must continue...I must finish the song.
1100...
1200... This is the most i remember getting. I suddenly miss a quarter note straight on the down beat.
I black out.
When i wake up, its 4 00 am, and im lying in a hospital bed. I ask my mom what happened, and she said that i fell and hit my head on the corner of my computer desk (which is very pointy and hurts). It had left a gash on the side of my head. A nurse came in after a while and she started interrogating and lecturing me. First she asks me what i was doing. "I was playing a dancing game on the computer. Ya know those games at the mall that have the 4 arrows and ppl hop around on them." After a while she finally told me that i had passed out from the lack of oxygen... apparently, somewhere along the line i had started to hold my breath and didnt even realize it. She said that had gotten 12 stitches while i was knocked out. She started lecturing to me about working too hard (i weigh 270 lbs).
Yesterday at about noon, we ate at the subway in the medical center (how convenient) and left for home. First thing i did when i walked in the door was turn on the computer... Time for more FFR
.... Without the pad this time.
Now i have something to write about in my senior portfolio.
