This month has been awesome. I got to paint my dad's motorcycle and it came out great IMO. I also got his car, a 1977 Monte Carlo.
There's a story behind the motorcycle. My dad bought a 2004 Harley Davidson Sportster brand new in 2004. It was an awesome bike but on the day of December 1st (6 months ago) it got raped. The story about what happened to the bike is this.
My mom has been screwed up in the head since birth. She's schizophrenic (sp?) and earlier last year had voices in her head telling her to do stuff. She said her voices told her to kill me >_>
When I got off the school bus on December 1st I didn't know anything was wrong. I walked inside and found my parents screaming at each other.
Dad: I can't believe you did that to my bike.
I instantly went to the garage and looked at his bike. I found that my mom had taken a hammer and hit the gas tank and fenders over 100 times. I later counted 86 dents on the gas tank.
When I went back inside my dad had the phone ready to call the police and my mom had a knife, chasing my dad around the kitchen table. Eventually the police did get here and take her to a mental hospital or something.
During the time she had the knife she threatened to kill me and I came VERY CLOSE to punching her in the face....She stayed in the hospital for a month.
My dad wanted to fix up the damaged bike parts instead of spending $1000+ on new parts. After filling in the dents it was ready to paint. My dad can't paint for **** and I said that I'd do it. I don't know how he agreed so easily but he did.
Pictures:
The first coat. A very metallic silver primer.

The second step. Tangerine Candy mixed with the silver primer.

The next step. Tangerine Candy mixed with Innercoat Clear.

After that came the flames. I used Cobalt Blue mixed with the silver primer for the flames and then put Clear on top of all of that. Here is the result:

I'm very proud of this paint job. Mainly because it was my first time ever using this kind of paint. My dad payed me by giving me $100 and his car.

This is the car my dad gave me. It's been in a garage in Mexico MO (My dad's hometown) for 13 years. It came to our house 2 years ago and still sat collecting dust. This is the car my dad bought when he was 15. Now that I have it, I'm going to make it awesome.
I have $8,000 to use to work on this car. I can do anything with it. I know I have to buy a new motor because with the current motor (505 HP Chevelle motor) it gets 6 miles per gallon. I'll have to find the original 305 HP motor to put back into the car. I also have to fix a rust spot, replace the dash and spedometer and on top of all that, paint the car. I'm sure there's A LOT more that I have to do to get this car perfect again but I don't care.

What should I do with the car?
