I don't get this. Suddenly it seems every show that includes giant "robots" has to be some psychological tripfest.
So far, this is the list of anime I don't understand and don't want to try doing so:
Evangelion (out of the blue Shinji is going mental and there are pictures and sound and stuff is kinda happening but it doesn't matter watch the movie wait the movie doesn't make any sense either now everyone's dead gg world)
RahXephon (something about music and then the main character dies but not really he was in a tree but then he's not ok)
Escaflowne (or maybe there really was absolutely no plot in the show whatsoever as this was the impression I was left with)
Nadesico (I have no idea what happened in the movie or at the end of the show. Then again, I probably wasn't paying attention or whatever)
Eureka SeveN (no idea. Stuff I guess)
Maybe I'm just unperceptive or something. These shows just fail to make sense to me. Granted, I'm the type of person who doesn't care to overthink about what I watch. If something isn't surface-level explanatory, I won't get it.
My question is not an explanation for these shows because I won't get it no matter how hard you explain it to me anyway. My question is, why the psychological tripfest solely associated with this genre? I just don't get it =/
