What's the difference between football cleats and baseball cleats?
Well, the topic title pretty much says it. I want to wear my baseball cleats to football, but i dont know if i'll be able to. Google sucks and my teammates have no idea.
Re: What's the difference between football cleats and baseball cleats?
Generally, baseball cleats are metal spikes, and are shaped like this -- ( a line ), or this O (thick and round). This is to gain traction in the infield primarily, to break up the hard dirt.
Football spikes are hard rubber (illegal to wear metal, if you're found with metal cleats, in most high school leagues, and all collegiate sports, you're kicked for the rest of that game, and the next. Football spikes usually are just really pointy, and have small spikes, ideal for grass running. Hope this helped!
Re: What's the difference between football cleats and baseball cleats?
Wel, first off, the design of each. Spike positioning on the bottom is different for different terrains. Are they plastic or metal? Lenght? Football cleats usually have longer spikes because of the length of the grass, and the wetness of it. Baseball cleats are usually slimmer, lighter, and shorter spikes. It shouldn't affect you greatly, but buying both won't hurt. Decent cleats go for about $30.

Well, my baseball cleats are hard rubber too, I think i could wear them to practice then when games start i'll buy some football cleats, as long as that's the only main difference.
Re: What's the difference between football cleats and baseball cleats?
I'm not sure I can properly answer your question, but I would check up on rules about toe cleats. I know that in soccer it's illegal to have them, but okay in baseball. I'm pretty sure that they're okay in football, too, but you don't want to show up with illegal cleats.

Tps is right. Go buy yourself a pair soon.
Jake, are you training or is this like actual season?
Foorball season-Starts during your summer, ends at the end of fall
Football training-All ****ing year.
Jake, it all depends on what you run. I'd say get Mid/Low-cut cleats because they are good for manuverability but still able to keep a grip on your ankles.

Re: What's the difference between football cleats and baseball cleats?
the main difference is that generaly baseball cleats have the spike things on the front to give you extra power when running on the dirt stuff. football cleats have them on the inside part of the cleat but i donno why
