How long does it usually take you to beat games?

Both in real time and game time.

It rarely takes me more than 20 hours to beat any game nowadays. Even if I do all of the extra stuff, I find it hard to get more than 15-20 hours of game time out of anything. That's just for RPGs, of course. I can beat any non-RPG in under 5 hours without breaking a sweat.

In real time, it can take anywhere from a week to a few months. I tend to play a lot of different games at once, so it takes a while for me to beat stuff unless I'm really addicted to it.

And for fun: Longest time spent on a game?

I've probably spent somewhere around 1500 hours on Disgaea alone. I have one save file with 200 hours and like 11 others. 3000+ hours on FFT, though. Two memory cards of nothing but FFT.

Longest time spent actually playing a game?

    Xenogears: 50 hours
    Persona 2: 100 hours
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne: 70 hours

RE: How long does it usually take you to beat games?

Time it takes to beat a game: 10-40 hours. Mostly 20-30. I have this obsessive complusive habit of needing to do everything possible in the game, which slows me down a lot but gives extra entertainment value. It also results in my being extremely overpowered pretty much all the time.

I tend to only take one or two games at a time, so I only spend a week to a month on any given game.

Longest time spent on a game: Morrowind. Made three files, all of which I've spent 500+ hours on. It's so huge. I love it. I can't wait until Oblivion comes out (1 month asdf zomfg).

Longest time actually playing a game: Morrowind. Again. By the way, none of those files have seen the end of the game. In fact, my newest and most furthest one only made it a little over halfway. Damn there being so much to do. DAMN YOU, BETHESDA.

Also, Maple Story deserves some mention. Thanks to it's annoyingly long, drawn-out training system, I've spent probably 400 or so hours on it so far. And I just hit L45.

Longest time spent on a game: lmao, Pokemon Blue.

      300+ hours. I loved that game <3.

Then again, add up all the time from every SM song I've ever played...

RE: How long does it usually take you to beat games?

MMOs will always win in the amount of time played. =\

And it varies drastically how long it takes me to beat games. Not too long ago I used to rush through games and beat them in 1 or 2 sittings, not taking more than 10 hours ever. Then I realized that that's like scarfing down delicious food. It's better to take your time and enjoy it. This is especially true with me because I have a hard time going back to a game I've beaten and playing it more, especially RPGs.

Prolly the game I took the longest to beat was GTA:SA, just because it's a fairly long game, and because it was the first GTA where I didn't use cheats, AND because I like to just screw around in GTA sometimes, and I did some of the side missions. I played it quite a bit after the story was over, too, doing lots of side missions and finding stuff. I've got near 90% on the game, I'm pretty sure, without even really trying too hard. I have no idea how long I've played it in number of hours, but it was quite a bit. I could go load it up and see the time played I think, but I'm lazy right now.

But like I said before, MMOs win for hours, so I bet MS has probably already beaten it in terms of hours played. SM may come close, just because there's no way to beat it, so I just kept on playing until it got old.
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

It takes me about 20-25 game time hours or about 2-3 weeks to beat most rpgs. Longest time spent on games
          Pokemon blue: 257hrs
          FFX: 87hrs
          FFX-2: 145 hrs ( beat it 7 times with new game+ )
FFTactics: total of about 700hrs. =) i like playing it alot

For other games like FPS, it takes 4-6 hours depending on the difficulty

            longest on a game...
socom series online, well over 1000 hours.
yeah, games nowadays are so easy and short, like Prince of Persia. I beat it on all 3 difficulties in about 25 hours

Usually around 20-30 hours unless the game is particularly long or short. Keep in mind that i do all the sidequests available and junk too.

Longest time spent on a game: Pokemon Gold. I don't have a record of how long i played that game for, but trust me, it was long. Second place would be either SSBM or LoZ:Link to the Past.

I'm one of those lousy completionists that tries to do everything perfect. Maybe 40 hours to beat the story mode if it's an RPG (then again, my RPG library is -very- small, so I might just pluck out the long ones). Other games really vary.

Most I've ever spent on a game, though, is Warcraft 3. I've killed 1,000+ easy on that (probably... 1,500), 3/4's of that being with custom games.

I dunno. Maybe 50 hours on RE4? Maybe 20 on Dino Crisis 2. I don't spend a lot of time on games.

Maybe 30 on True Crime New York?

Longest time on a game, maybe about 4 months in game time on World of Warcraft over the past year and a few months.

                      Counting only single player games:

I have probably put 100-150 hours into Xenogears over several playthroughs. Probably a similar amount for CT and FF6. Those were all years ago though.

I've put nearly 100 hours into Ninja Gaiden Black now, which is far, far more than I have put into any other game since I turned 16, got my license, and subsequently a social life.

Most modern RPGs take me 20-30 hours to beat, and if I remember right, ToS, Disgaea, and PB all fall into this window.

I tend to do that often. I start 1 game I bought, and end up wanting to start another and another and never end up finishing all the games for a while

And playing for a long time? 50+ hours or so on FF7 back when it first came out. Played until I had all LvL 99, all items, all master materia etc etc.. But even if it is overrated, I still like it but not as much anymore.

In game time, I usually beat agmes in about 10-20 hours. It pretty much depends on what game I'm playing.

IRL, the longest I've ever played a game was 500+ hours of Tales of Destiny 2 for the PSX. My cousin and I literally spent a month beating the game and we didn't beat the game until the last day I was staying at his house during the summer.

i've prolly put in the most time on either legend of dragoon for the psx, getting everything, leveling, all that jazz or ffx with something around 50+ hours or more recently with soul caliber 3 with around 25...
