What dance game is best? I really enjoy playing DDR at the arcade, but I’m not sure what to buy for my PS2 at home. What version should I buy? Should it be DDR or something else?

RE: Best dance game?
It really depends on your preferences. If you really enjoy DDR, I suggest buying a DDR game, either Extreme or Extreme 2. I prefer In the Groove 2 over DDR Extreme, but there's no home version for it yet. Both home versions of Extreme are very enjoyable, though, so you can't go wrong with either one.

I was playing a version of DDR at my friend’s house the other day, and I was disappointed to find that almost every song had pop vocals in it. It's not that I can’t dance to it; I would just prefer something with more variety in the tracks. What version do you think has the best variety of songs, or with the least amount of vocals?Comment

Most of the DDR home versions, unfortunately, are very Americanized and geared toward the American home-player audience.
If you're into arcade songs from DDREX AC, check out DDR Extreme 2. It has a nice songlist, with a lot of songs straight off the arcade versions, while tossing in some American tracks as well.
Personally, I'd check songlists first. You can find them on DDR Freak or DDR:UK. Best of luck. ^^

ITG has a home version, you're just retarded.Originally posted by nforcer06164It really depends on your preferences. If you really enjoy DDR, I suggest buying a DDR game, either Extreme or Extreme 2. ITG2 does not have a home version. The first ITG isn't exactly good. Why would I recommend it?Originally posted by MoogyITG has a home version, you're just retarded.Originally posted by nforcer06164It really depends on your preferences. breakman, DDR uses every panel that PIU doesn't use. PIU uses every panel DDR doesn't use. There's no way you can use the same mat for both unless you get some sort of third-party pad that has a sensor on every panel in the 9-square grid.

RE: Re: RE: Best dance game?
ITG2 is way worse than ITG1. ITG is pretty terrible anyway, it's just a bunch of Z-level licensed songs and 26982671961689 songs by KeeL with BS steps.Comment

I would say no , since there isn't anything in the other spaces in the Pump it Up dance Pads.I really recomendate too play DDR on arcades or in home with the corresponding DDR mat , and Pump it Up exceed at arcades.Pupm it Up goes really fast , in a dance mat would be a chaos and maybe you'll break a bone.Originally posted by breakmanDose anyone know anything about "Pump it Up: Exceed". I heard that since it has an extra step, you can't use the DDR mats with it. If I get the "pump it up" mat, will I be able to play DDR on it?
DDR is good , but I prefer PUMP IT UP : EXCEED music.
Thats my opinionComment

Maybe the music is better for some songs, but the bgs freak me out. Seriously.
I think Ex2 was the best. Missions weren't too hard, but unlocking some missions were annoying. Dancing Characters cost A LOT. I'm missing half of them. To make up for that, it has Sakura.
Extreme missions were too hard for beginners. There are maybe 15 I still can't do.
Max2 was pretty good, though it looks pretty primitive now that I look back on it.
I don't have Max.
They're right, you should check the songlists first and see wihich one you like the most. Or, you could just buy them all.Comment

Re: Best dance game?
I'll say my bit. DDR extreme or extreme 2 would be great to have at your house. ITG is okay, but the difficulty could be overwhelming at first to the usual DDR player. PIU uses (on the numpad) 7,9,5,1,3 for its steps and is much more difficult on crazy than DDR's heavy. If you do buy PIU, you may need something to hold onto like the bar in the arcades unless you can maintain your balance while executing the steps.
