Disclaimer: This topic was made to piss off Moogy by saying that buying Makai Kingdom is a complete waste of time compared to merely playing this for an hour. XD

Its story is MUCH different from the typical RPG. Basicly you're some kid you name yourself in Tokyo, and you go off to meet your two friends and a sick teacher in a hospital. Upon meeting the teacher, you discover she's helping the occult and within 15 minutes from the start of the movie, you get to witness the end of the world. ^_^. The game doesnt end there, duh. Some little blonde brat then places some kind of small worm thingy right in your eye while you're semi-conscious. When you regain full conscious, you are now a half-demon. You soon discover that the new world's moon is basicly the embryo for the new world, and awaits your descision on a reason that the new world should have all its inhabitants follow. In other words, you basicly play 'God' like into recruiting your followers and then creating the new world.
The battle system is quite unique. Apparantly the system is called the Press Turn system, in which instead of characters normally taking turns alone, your entire team is comprised of turns, one for each member, and so is the enemy. Each normal attack will cost one turn. However, critical hits or hitting a weakness will only cost you half a turn. If a character attacks and misses or the attack gets nulled, you/the enemy (whoever attacks) loses two turns. If the attack is absorbed as HP or reflected back at you however, you/the enemy loses the rest of their turns.
All I can say that the graphics are awesome, they're quasi-anime/quasi-real at the same time, it just looks awesome cause of the semi-cel-shading look. Sound and music is awesome too.
The only way to ever recruit other teammates is to speak to other demons in BATTLE. Thats right, you must run up to and use the talk command on a demon you are currently fighting. Sometimes they wont listen, other times they will demand money or items, or other times they will ask you metaphorical questions to see if you are worthy of being their friend. In either case, your main character is the ONLY character you will ever have unless you recruit demons.
I say that should do it for my review of SMT:N. ^_^
Summary: This is a LOT more difficult than FFX (or any other RPG beyond FF4 hardtype) and has no voice acting and no whiny protagonist for that matter. Gotta get all those demons/celestial beings! XD
