Making a Song... a couple of questions

Hey everybody, my friend and I were fooling around listning to music and got an idea to make one of our songs into a SM file... the development is coming along great, but we have a couple questions:

It is a fast paced song, and the only beat that i have fast enough for it is Max300's beat... which is perfect for the song, but a problem is, the song is called Opium of the People, but when we play it, it says Max300 Long Version... Is it possible to rename it somewhere? Because I've tried... it wont work

We made a logo for it (like a page selection picture that says Opium of the People) and we made a background for it... but the background wont load and the logo will? I find that odd... the background goes to default instead of plugging in.

If anybody could help, feel free to answer those questions... thx

So basically you took max 300 out of it's song folder and just put the new song in there?

you'll have to go in and change the name of the title and artist in the .dwi and .sm files and make sure you get rild of any .old files. For the bg and banner problem, try removing any other existing bgs and banners in the song folder and making sure yours are labeled correctly and are in .png format and are the correct size. then remember to hit the reload songs and courses button in menu options and it should work.

Ok, so that worked so far... thanks alot talisman... but another problem has come up: Long Version... now I know you have to have two stages available in order to play the song (Because Max300 isnt nearly long enough, the song is 4 minutes in length, so...

What I've done was, I made Opium Of The People... then Opium Of The People - Stage 2... but I dont know how to combine them to play as one song... can anybody help?

What IWell there are step file creators out there like http://www.dwimaker.4t.com/. It makes it alot easier. As for your delimma there are options in the Stepmania file maker that can change the size. You can try to mess around with the .sm/.dwi code just open it in word or notepad.

So what if it's a long version? It doesn't matter.

Thanks, I already tried a couple of those and they failed... but I'll try one of those programs that you suggested... and as for the long version, it matters because the song stops when it's not supposed to lol

If it doesnt turn out well in the end try to make your song with another .sm/.dwi file.
