      it's always been that way. If the government wants to build a highway where your house is, they can take your land, and they'll pay you as they see fit.

              No, no, no.

              Now it extends so far that if a commercial industry would like to use your property to build, say, a home depot... They could nudge the community government (through offering high returns on taxes, etc...) to condemn the property to allow a commercial industry to be built there.

              Imaging your house being condemned to build a Best Buy, how fucked would that be.

                  How would you feel if you received a statement saying that your house along with a few of your neighboring houses are going to be destroyed in order to make room for a mall.

                      When I used to live in Gunter AFB, they tore down our house to make a bowling Alley.. though the house was free and they just gave us another afterwords.
