Not-so-well-known movies that are not anime

With this thread I am requesting movies that are not classic* or popular. Movies that most people don't know about, and only half the people that do know about them like it. Please also keep in mind that these movies should be "good" to some standards.

Genres/classifications not to be included are as follows:
    • Silent
      Documentaries
      Mainstream
      Romance / 'Chick Flicks'
      Childrens / Family
      Musicals
      Anime

I've seen most of the cult classics but feel free to mention some that are harder to come across.
Also, while Foreign is okay--use them as a last resort. I'm not ready to dive too deep into foreign films yet. (Though Battle Royale is awesome)

One movie I have come across is very strange and disturbing, yet pretty damn funny. Once you get over the beginning, "Bad Boy Bubby" turns out to actually be an alright movie, if you like this kind of thing.
While I really enjoy weird movies, nothing by David Lynch or any copycats of his work. I can't stand that crap.

*If you know of any good Classic Westerns, I have an ever-growing place in my heart for them right now, and I have only seen a few.

I will try my best to find any movies mentioned and watch them ASAP, then leave feedback on what I thought. I love watching movies, even if it's on my computer screen.
    Nice.

The movie is funny as hell and Steve Buscemi(correct spelling) owns you Tass. Too bad he got blown away in the Sopranos though.

Agreed. The movie lacked...everything. Sure, it had cute girls, and Steve Buscemi (who seriously is the best actor ever...next to Bill Murray), but what else did it have? Every other were was a swear word. It wasnt funny. Nothing really happens. The main character was a bitch. There wasnt enough Scarlet Johansson. Overall, it was just boring.

My friend loves the movie. But he is a weirdo who is obsessed with thrift stores, vinyl records, and homemade synthesizers.

Brazil (UK Version) kicks ass. I guess it could be considered a cult classic.

Meh. I guess I'm a fan of GW then. But you have to admit that scene with the greek Store Manager and the Construction Guy with the nunchukus was pretty funny.

Store Clerk: Hey Buddy, I already told you once. No shirt, No service. Get the hell out of my store! What do you think this is, Club Med?

CG: This is America baby. Learn the rules.

SC: Rules!? We Greeks invented the rules!

CG: You guys also invented Homos!

                SC: F**k you!

CG: Yeah right! You gotta buy me dinner first!

LOL That part gets me everytime.

Killing Zoe became an instant cult classic when it came out, but I don't know too many people who have seen it. It's a great movie by Roger Avary, and with Mr. Tarantino as executive producer. This movie is definitely not rare, but if you liked Reservoir Dogs--this is not one to pass up.
                  Nice.

You must be off your rocker a mile and a half. That movie was wonderful.
As far as other movies that need to be seen by everyone...

Where the Buffalo Roam (if you have seen Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas...you will like this, for this one is about Hunter S. Thompson's life rather than just a fictional story. If you haven't seen Fear and Loathing. Do so. Quickly.)

Blue Velvet (Dennis Hopper, Kyle MacLauchlan)
Mulholland Dr (Naiomi Watts, Laura Elena Herring)
                    Lost Highway(Bill Pullman, Rosanna Arquette)
(all David Lynch films...he is awesome.)
                    The Omen (Gregory Peck)
                    Harold and Maude(Bud Cort)
                    The Invisibles(Portia di Rossi)
Irreversible(French foreign film....beware, this film can and will make you vomit. If you have a weak stomach or motion sickness, don't watch this film.)
                    Sex and Lucia(Spanish foreign film)
Talk To Her( Spanish foreign film)
In the Realms of the Senses(Japanese foreign film...very sexually-driving movie, and the last scene is INTENSELY graphic. Will make you cringe.)

If I think of any more, I will let you know.

Also, all of the Tarantinos (my fav) are great...even the ones he just wrote and didn't direct are good.
Any of Stanley Kubricks and any of David Fincher's are great as well.

                      some fun wire-fu type movies:

Kung Fu Hustle(watching it right now) it has some great special effects and some funny parts.Watch for the scene with the musicians vs the masters, cool poo.

Storm Riders : its got the classic love triangle thing going.Sonny Chiba is the bad guy, some neat stuff, although its a little long.

Iron Monkey : if you like the above check this one out too

some just plain little known movies that are great:

                      Run Lola Run!
                      Sol Goode
                      The Big Bounce
                      art,language,music.they are living things.if they aren\'t fed----they die.
