          Get Bryce. Its groundbreaking technology lets you add toruses like nobody's business. It even lets ou put shiny textures on them.

              In general, it's funny how you tend to blame people for turning topics into flamewars when you know what ok nevermind.


              Photoshop is basically a must. You could also use Gimp or something similar to it, but most people use Photoshop. Also, most people use some sort of a 3D renderer (I use Bryce and 3dsmax. Other programs include Maya, Lightwave, and Cinema4D). Of course, if you're ludicrously good, you can make awesome shit using Photoshop alone (see: RJ's Winter background, made entirely in Photoshop).

                                          no offense... but if you can't even figure out how to download a free program, how are you going to work well with a sophisticated program like any of the 3D renderers.

                                              Bryce is the one 3d renderer that is NOT sophisticated.

                                              It took me like a couple months on my own to get it to the point where I could do anything within its limits.
