Does anyone here who playes both think that FFR makes you better at DDR? I haven't played DDR in a long time because I really suck at it but I really want to get better at it!

Actually, I was really bad at DDR, then played FFR and SM for a long time, and went back to DDR and passed from 3-4 footers to 8 footers in the span of about a week.

ffr and sm basically help you with the reading aspect. You are able to comprehend and react to arrows faster and that. It doesn't help you movei your legs.......Comment

FFR doesn't help with DDR skiils. Sure, when my brother plays all his expert songs in FFR I might step along to them for fun but don't get any better than a light mode player.
To conclude this statement, FFR cannot help you in DDR at all.

Think of what some of you are saying, you are saying it doesn't help, but it does HELP with reading. So it still does help, even if its really not doing any physical help. DDR is still a mental AND physical game, you can't have one without the other.
Put it this way, you work out your legs speed strength and stamina for a year, but that doesn't mean you'll know how to read the arrows.

Immensely. I've already completely mastered reading arrows because of Stepmania, and it definitely helps my timing. Those two things are huge.

FFR helps you to recognize patterns in steps and also read faster arrows. It helped me to make the transition between standard and heavy(trick and maniac). iono, it helped me....pyro31191: TELL EVERYONE YOU WANT TO TAKE IT IN THE ASS NOW

I must side with saying FFR and SM will help you be a better DDR player (and vise-versa). It mostly helps when you're just starting out. If will help in: recognizing different beats, timing for different note values, reading.
The only problem is that it takes about 5-10% of skill from FFR/SM to apply it to DDR.Comment
