How can I crop some of this song?

I've been making a new simfile (which will own) but there is a problem. The length of the song is 3:01...EXACTLY one second over the limit from Long song to regular song. The end of the song is essentially blank for five seconds, so I want to crop that out.

What program(s) do I need to do so and still have it in mp3 format?

Any help greatly appreciated as this will be the best (and hardest legitimate) simfile ever.

Long songs are classified as between 2:30 and 4:59. 3:00 isn't the cutoff.

I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.

Moogy - It's called "WTF?". Omega so graciously let me hear it.

Anyway...since I can't crop off more than like 10 seconds, it's pointless now. I'll be releasing this shortly.

Another stepfile I want to put out needs cropping. This time I can easily take off a verse from the song I want to stepfile, so I need to know how to do so.

This topic can be stickied if people want to know how to do this in the future, locked since I got the answer, or referenced later because it has the answer. It's just that versatile.

I believe it becomes "Marathon". I have made one that was 6:45 in length with this title attached to it.

Moogy - Just tested it on the first of like 10 simfiles I'm making and it worked great. Thanks again.

You can edit how long a song is before it's considered "Long" or "Marathon" in Stepmania.ini.
