The Best 4 Key Players Discussion

As time has passed more branching communities have appeared and as far as I'm aware as some ultra casual boomer who has chilled on ffr forever it's hard to tell where the best are coming from or who are the best and where that is right now skillwise. The official tourney has always been about testing to see who is the best. But now it seems like a pond next to a vast ocean. It opened my eyes that ppl are coming over from osumania or whatever and wipe the floor with everyone primarily in the ffr community then some just leave and go back to their primary rhythm game. If I look at the 4k osumania leaderboard for example I find this: https://osu.ppy.sh/rankings/mania/gl...all&variant=4k. The best player being saragi who has this yt channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Saragi32/videos

tldr perhaps this thread can be a place to communicate what's going on at the very top levels of 4k and perhaps how that would translate to ffr if the best tried ffr.

Edit: I also just wanna say that this should stay a civil respectful place. More from the point of interest of where the frontier of the game is. Lets not put anyone down.

From a boomer player to another, chances are you wont get much of an active discussion involving many players here on the FFR forums.

That being said, this has been discussed a couple of times on the discord server, and generally it leads to these points:

    - We need more content for the very top players (basic player retention logic).
    - We don't exactly have the judging capacity to output the above, and not many stepartists either who can create such difficult charts with FFR quality. But everyone tries still (including myself).
    - The top difficulties are debated as to where FFR should stop trying to increase the ceiling (some will say if top players dont get like sub 30rg there's no point; I personally think the 100+ rg scores on HFF are clean enough to warrant their existence even if just for the sake of allowing top players to have more goals than optimizing a few rg on things they can SDG.)
    - FFR's AAA equiv formula will eventually need a redo because it breaks at those levels (120-130+).

A definite best 4k player is hard to say. because of all the different skillsets and junk. but if you HAD to narrow it down, I would say it is indeed Saragi. The dude is on an entirely different spectrum when it comes to the game. His physicality is off the charts, being able to reach insane heights and push the boundary of 4k osu!mania.

But with that being said, I know there are players better than him when it comes to like... getting good acc/ratio on long note intensive charts or maps or whatever. players that come to mind are Myuka, Nepijin, or Bojii. And then SV is a whole different thing. which the best SV player is like CrewK, but that's the only SV player I really know about... There are probably insane SV players in Quaver, but I don't really follow Quaver...

Ok, now take everything I said with a grain of salt, as there are players that are under the radar, and people get better with time. But this is like generally all I know and I could just be flat out wrong.

Lastly, if Saragi tried FFR. He would probably be able to hit many insane AAA's on files in the upper end of the 110+ range. As in osu!mania he is really good at rice (maps with little to no long notes) and it is widely agreed he is the best rice player. And it would be a matter of time until he would hit #1 in here.

      the end

Wonder where the performance would be on heartbreak furry fandom currently. I notice devplayzz took a solid 2nd place behind playmore (kane I think from a few years ago?)

Hi guy who hosted Quaver's biggest SV tournament here

CrewK won that extremely convincingly, he's still pretty much the best player outside of maybe extremely hard stuff (which syamisu might be better at with stuff like polyriddim SS and emme 99%)

The rhythm gaming community has evolved significantly, with players crossing over between platforms like FFR and osu!mania, often bringing new skills and perspectives. It’s interesting to see how these interactions impact the competitive landscape. For example, players at https://kaszino-world.com/ can search for proven and trusted games based on their ratings. This dynamic exchange enriches the competitive scene, offering new challenges and opportunities for growth, and is a testament to the vibrant and ever-changing nature of rhythm gaming.

              the end
Saragi’s insane physicality sets him apart, but accuracy specialists like Myuka or Nepijin dominate long-note heavy maps. Imposing players all around!
