    Had a pretty awesome thing happen at a chiptune dance music show

    I couldn't have this happen and not share it with you guys. It was a couple of hours in and everybody was having a pretty good time. During the fourth set the artist called out the people in the audience who played rhythm games back in the day. The guy said that "if you played Stepmania back in 2007 you're gonna freak out when you hear this". And he played...a remix of fucking Vertex Beta. Once I finally remembered the name it brought back a flood of memories of the hundreds of times I had played that song trying to get the skill token.

    I talked to the guy after and he said he played index back in the day. I wasn't sure if we had ever crossed paths back then, but it was the first time in ages I had met somebody who was also there during the golden age. It makes me ache with nostalgia over all the memories I have of that time.

              I can't find the exact remix anywhere, but the artist's name is Petriform.

              It was at a much smaller event called Heat.wav, though I wouldn't be surprised if the artist (mentioned above) played it there too.

                  Petriform has been in the scene for a long time, so not shocked to hear that they remixed Vertex Beta.

                      That was the show I was at!!! I was standing just a few feet to the right of the person filming the video!

                                          Well shit, we followed each other on Soundcloud and talked for a while before the show so it looks like I did meet him after all. That's so damn cool that I got to speak to one of the FFR OGs haha.
