    People who still use Stepmania 3.95 in 2021, why?

    I honestly wanna know why some people prefer using 3.95 over Etterna

                      I'm an old fart and just use what I'm comfortable with using, and can't be bothered to make a permanent move over to Etterna.

                      I still do 90% of my charting in 3.9/3.95 — I use ArrowVortex for syncing and Etterna for play testing only.

                      This 6key pack I dropped two months ago was almost entirely done in 3.9/3.95 and it's one of the most polished packs to come out in a very long time as I put A LOT of work into it

                          I'm also old and lazy to make the switch as well. I'm also fairly outdated and I'm perfectly fine with that. I've been playing this game on Legacy engine, charting with 3.95 (DDream for variable bpm piano files), and syncing with DDream.

                              All the boomers on 3.9 say that Etterna "feels wrong" until you show them how to customize gameplay.........

                                          I play 3.95 mostly out of nostalgia, but also because I solely play pad files and I have no real use for Etterna. The only time I play keyboard files is when I'm on FFR. As a result, I have learned that, on a long enough timeline, trying to play at a high level is more stressful than diverting. I'd rather play to have fun, and 3.95 provides that for me.
                                          I really don't want to understate the power of opting for objectively broken and inferior shit as a means to cling to my childhood, however. In a vacuum, playing 3.95 over even Stepmania 5 is a curious decision indeed.
