    Journey to become the fastest speed mod player!!!

    I been noticing why I've been missing so many notes; it's because I type to fast. Also got a new monitor and it's refresh rate is 144hz. Lately I been challenging myself to raise my speed mod past 4x!!! so far I'm used to 3.5x - 3.8x as of this date on the post. I'm right around the middle having my speed be 3.6x but still practicing. I want to make it my permanent speed a really fast multiplier.

    That's were you the player comes in and finds a faster speed mod player than me. I want to challenge myself to be even faster than ever before. So far the only people I seen was near 3, but let me tell you... I'm leagues faster than them. Also no, fast does not mean NPS fast, I'm meaning scrolling speed.

    So anyone have a faster speed mod than me or do you know a person?

      I mean, I play at C951... which people think is ridiculous (roughly 3.1x speed)

          Probably learned it from playing hard songs that was inspired by SC_coolguy's methods as we are about the same skill leve and I see him next to me in some leader boards on hard files. Also inspired off of other notable players like Kurisushadow which I learned a lot about stamina and intense reading I thank him the most.

                      This thread reappears every now and then and the answer never changes:

                      How impressive your speedmod is depends heavily on the size of your scrolling area. Velocity demonstrated clean (low boos) scores on various files at scroll speed 20x.

                      Now that being said, nothing stops you from trying to achieve such a goal, but I suggest you either define the boundaries and rules of your claim, or do it casually and not focus on being "the best".

                              I did set a goal to not get bored of this game and try something different. It's better do something like this and challenge myself. Plus I'm trying to get better at reading notes.

                                  I vaguely remember seeing someone who was level ~55 posting scores in Discord with a scroll speed of 4x and reasonable accuracy. I don't remember their name or have any empirical evidence of this person existing, however, so this tenuous anecdote will have to do.
                                  Regardless, I don't really see the point in assigning so much value to something as arbitrary and otherwise meaningless as scroll speed. Cranking up the scroll speed for keks and for discovering the upper limits of what you can read sounds like a fun experiment, sure, but turning it into a self-aggrandizing competition like this is decidedly less enjoyable. I don't find anything wrong with setting a personal goal to be able to read at faster speeds (although, at level 61, you have a considerable amount of upward mobility available to you to keep you from getting bored of the game), but the sort of, uh, unearned confidence with which this thread is teeming is slightly irksome.
                                  Do whatever you want, I guess. I've just never understood the fascination with scroll speed.

                                      I can see some people are offended about this post and I have doubts that I did not have any intentions of starting something so dramatic. To be fair this is a Brag Board I assumed it as literal bragging tho still, I digress. I don't know if I want to close the thread or not as it is leaving some people very disappointed in the way I phrased it in the post.

                                      Anyways I will start keeping goals to myself and leave it out of forum post from here on out. If any mod decides to close the thread I will not mind as I already made people think of me as a douche bag. Say what you like, I wanted this to be a journey not a competition but the things I said should not be ignored and I do apologize for sounding like a jerkass.

                                      Anyways for people that do understand I thank you. I will still leave this up for the time being to give any last words for me like encouragement.
