THE SPIEL
Recently I've decided that I need to stop the manias. What used to bring me joy is now a chore to get through. It's lost its glossy sheen of fun and excitement. I said I would do a final Stepping Stones but I no longer believe that I can provide the quality control that I thought I could. I tried to do a good job but for the most part I only ended up just enjoying the files for myself as they were and coasted on good files and graphics. As for CKMP1.5, I wouldn't be able to do much quality control, if any, due to the skill required to play through most of the files. And the community doesn't really deserve to have lousy or half hearted packs.
So I wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks to the community and everyone in it for being a significant part of my life for nearly 15 years. I learned a ton, played even more, and somehow managed to make a friend or two.
I also want to get some shoutouts in before I close shop:
- Mina for etterna and his valuable insight to difficulty ratings/calculations. It was really nice to have for the last couple SSS packs and I honestly hope that etterna and it's side projects become everything that you want them to be
- hi19, Scintill, bmah, Kommi, GD, macgravel, choof - though you may not know it and I might not have shown it, your files were a great inspiration and extremely helpful to learn from so that I might have made my files better
- kinx, malice, choof, Kommi - getting me into (and keeping me into) solo play and charting. I hope my files included in solo rulz 5 are good enough for you guys!
- GD, Arn, mollo, cats - graphics inspiration and help when I needed it. You guys are unsung heroes when it comes to making a pack look good
- lofty - for your patience when it came to my sole dump file. It was a pleasant learning experience and I'm glad I made it decent enough for you to enjoy it. I'm sorry about She Zoremet. Maybe one day we'll do it up again and make it just about the greatest thing ever.
THE FINAL WORD
It's not "goodbye". Its more like an apology. I'm sorry that I won't be able to continue my two main projects (SSS & CKMP1.5). I'll still be around. I'd love to chat with you guys and hang out. I'm still going to make the occasional set of graphics or file. I just won't be heading projects or anything anymore. If I see something I want to contribute to, I will do my best to make it worthwhile for everyone involved.
If you want any of my files in particular gimme a shout. Same with my WIPs. As for gfx if you want something specific feel free to ask, but I'm not sure if I will do a large amount at once like I used to.
Finally, for CKMP1.5 I will not delete any of the files I have received. If someone wants to take it over, please feel free. I will do my best to help out where I can and provide everything I have for it.
