                          welcome to ffr if you are interested in charting songs please do not start off trying to chart very hard files it will only end poorly, have a fun time and i'm your best friend

                                              Enjoy your ([hopefully] permanent) stay here at FFR! Don't be afraid to jump into the forums (there's even a subforum for those that like proper introductions), play a few games, and to check out some of the community events (listed on the left side of the home page).

                                              Edit: the ffr FAQ has a bunch of info that likely has the answers to some questions you might immediately have regarding both the game and the community. It can be found here

                                                          I liked the part where someone said that you can't pause in stepmania. I actually started working on a pause menu for my theme last night.

                                                          The lua function that allows a theme to pause the game was fixed 2015/09/03 (the original lua binding was added 2009/10/27, then it broke a few years later and nobody realized), so pausing has been working for quite a while. Practically no themes use it though because Start has been used to forfeit and Back for going back and Select for skipping songs (in course mode), and those have to be disabled in metrics to use it. Then there's the work of creating a menu and doing stuff.

                                                          Of course, pausing during a song guarantees some misses unless there's a huge empty section in the song. And it marks you as unskilled.
