    The white-gold/blue-black dress mess

    We spent half of class today (Psychology no less) talking about the odd properties of this bizarre phenomenon. Most of the class said white and gold, some said blue and black. I saw white and gold, but it seemed blue and black a little too. Anyone have any answers on this?

      I saw blue and black.

      But then when I stared at the picture for a really long time and let my eyes "burn in" the image (especially if I stared at the bottom of the dress), I eventually saw white/gold and now I can't unsee it.

          Don't even start with this shit

          Only reason I'm mad about it is because this generation took this image of a dress and made it a nationally recognized event which is asinine.

          When I actually looked at it the first time, I saw Blue/Gold (which is fuccen weird because the options are White/Gold and Black/Blue so (y))

          I'm waiting to see pants as the next overly-popular event on the internet.

              I was seeing lilac/gold last night, but looking at it this morning I saw the blue/black more clearly.

              tbh the dress is kinda bleh either way.

                  Ikr? I thought it was supposed to be some sort of optical illusion, in which case that'd be kinda cool, but it's just shitty quality. Shit/10 dress.

                  Anyway, I thought it was a really pale blue instead of white, but also gold last night. But now I only see black and blue.

                      lol I was writing my own thread right as you posted this XD

                      I'm taking a Psychology of Color class this semester and my professor actually covered this phenomenon last week.
                      Today, she's being interviewed by ABC News about it. Pretty crazy.

                                      I saw white and gold yesterday evening, and then at night I saw it as black and blue. And it's not just an issue with differing monitor settings or something. A few of my friends and I have looked at the same image on the same phone screen and still have differing opinions.
