Hey everyone!!! It's been a VERY long time since I've hosted a tournament. 3 years to be exact!! So I've decided that since most users are now hosting tournaments, that I would like to join the mix and once again host a tourney. I've been pretty successful in the past with help from others on hosting these tournaments, so I would like to keep that going once again!
Without further adieu here is how this tournament is going to work:
Description of this Tournament:
This will be an interesting style tournament. First, it will be ran like a regular tournament in which everyone will submit their scores for the round songs in this thread, and I will update the spreadsheet with their scores. Typical stuff.
However, once the actual 8 rounds of this tournament are concluded, the next and final step of the tournament kicks in. It becomes a bracket championship where each player in their own respected divisions are seeded into the bracket. So, with that being said, having the most points at the end of the 8 rounds does not make you a winner. It makes you number 1 seed. To become the winner, you must win the bracket championship. (Also, quick note, if there are 25 people to a division, only the top 16 will make it through to the next step of the tournament. This keeps the numbers even, so yes there will be eliminations at the end of the first step of this tournament. 9 players to a division = Top 8 Advance, so on and so forth.)
This is done because I've seen, as you see in any sport (example football), that you can win the division, and lose the playoffs. Upsets happen at every turn and this is how this will be ran. We will have the season (8 Rounds) and then the playoffs (the bracket). You never know, the highest seeded player could lose to the lowest seeded player.
Once we reach the bracket tournament, the rounds become different. Only 48 hours (2 days) for each round to occur. At the end of the bracket tournament, the winners will receive their prizes, and the 2nd and 3rd place winners will also receive their respected prizes. Top 3 walk home with prizes (Also depending on how many credits are donated, if any).
Scoring & Eliminations!
This will be a PA Style Tournament in which all scores will be collectively added up through each round. There will be No eliminations for the first step of this tournament (First 8 rounds) However, once the bracket tournament starts, there will be eliminations to determine an even number for the bracket tourney. IE = 25 players in d3? Top 16 advance. All this will be determined after the the registration period is over for the tournament.
Placements & Divisions!
There will be 6/7 Divisions based upon how many D7 players enter this tournament! Also, if you wish to Ghost a division, please let me know when you say 'in' stating which division(s) you'd like to ghost. At the end of this tournament, there might be a special prize to the winner of the Ghosting division(s).
Starting Date & Rounds!
This tournament will start in approximately 1 week from when this tournament gets approved. Registration will remain open during the first round of play and will close at the start of round 2. For the first 8 Rounds of tournament play, you will have 3 days to submit a score. Once we reach the bracket tournament, the rounds become shorter, only being 2 days long.
Rules & Submission!!
No cheating. Obviously. No alt accounts, etc. etc. We all know not to cheat.
Courtesy to all other participants is required. No flaming, spamming, or disrespect. You will be given infraction points, and then removed after 2 points.
Late submissions for this tournament will be accepted with a penalty of 10 goods added on for each day late. 5 days late submission? That will score you a 50 good add on to your score. Don't be late.
Submitting scores can be done in screen shotting the score, or just posting the replay. The replays show the time and date it was played so therefore I will allow this. Also, if you are using the R3 engine, it does have your username listed in the screenshot, but if you are using velo or legacy, you will need to show a timestamp.
Prizes and Donations!
Prizes per each division will be listed once all the credits from the hoster (myself) and everyone else is tallied up at the end!
**************** ALSO, at the end of this tournament or during the course, I am going to see about adding some extra very special prizes to the top winners of each division. It could relate to many things, but once it's determined, and available, I will see about giving them so stay tuned!!!!****************
