    Getting rid of the fake grade

    When you complete a song and it spins to a random grade just before it actually spins to the right one...

    That bothers me. Is there a way to disable that so that it just goes right to the actual score?

    It doesn't go to a random grade... it goes to the grade 4 "levels" above the one you got on the wheel. And no, there's no way to change it, seeing as it's a part of DDR and therefore hardcoded into Stepmania.

        just hold down Tab after u finish the song
        So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

        In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

        So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
        And I write the blog for their website.

        Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

            Hardcoded? Just because it's in DDR doesn't mean Stepmania requires you to do it.

            Go into the folder of the theme you're using, then change the metrics.ini file...

            Search for this line:
            SpinGrades=1 <- change to 0

            There's more then one instance of this, you'll have to change all of them for it to never spin. If the theme you're using doesn't have this line, you can add in SpinGrade=0 to each of the eval screens, or to make it easier, go into the default theme, and change it's metrics.ini file like I said above. Note, the default theme gets deleted and reinstalled every alpha update, you'll have to do this every time...

                  *BIG HUG* Thank you SO MUCH!!! It works! It's great... I love not having to wait.

                  And Moogy, shame on you for answering a question when you don't know the answer.

                    dude, just hitting tab is alot easier. also, if u hit an arrow key while it's spinning it'll jump straight to your grade. well, thats what happens in DDR, i know, and i am pretty sure it happens in stepmania as well. all that ini editing is just too much work for me, hahaha

                        evilbutterfly, I think hitting tab is more work... I don't want to hit an extra button every time I'm done the song. That's a repetitive task. That's what computers are made to do for me.
