      separate thread about jTWG imo

      host signup process needs to be tweaked a bit, at least to the extent that a custom game has time to be examined closely by several people. shouldn't just immediately end with 5 votes for a game.

              Since I got little response in the chat, I'll ask here:

              What do people think the ideal lengths are for proposing and voting stages, respectively?

                  ideally, whoever hosted the previous game should receive PMs with ideas for the next game prior to the host thread being up. When the host receives at least two ideas he can post a thread with the ideas himself. Players can submit ideas to the host during the span of the previous game.

                  also no jTWG, just host two games. Don't call it jTWG. Just always host GOOD games. None of this location and items crap that pretends to make TWG harder than it is.

                              This is also a good idea, it makes things a little quicker and easier to organize, and being able to "skip" right to the voting stage would definitely keep enthusiasm high. But it really emphasizes the need for a "workshop" of sorts to discuss game ideas beforehand and work out the kinks before they are ready to ship.

                              Not sure about this one. There have been several different views on this issue presented in the TWG CIX postgame. I would update my community initiative thread and bring this debate to people's attention, but I have a doctor's appointment today which involves some pretty brutal preparation. I'll dedicate Friday to it, that is, if I'm not in the hospital.

                              Oh, and if it's any comfort, I'm looking to build a new "happy medium" sort of game design. My principles going forward will be:
                              1) Keeping the role of random chance to a bare minimum
                              2) Diffusion of power to reduce the swinginess of a certain key role dying
                              3) No matter what or how many powers there are, people should have to work to make those powers mean anything.
                              Going to set a deadline of 9PM Friday, Server Time for proposal stage. If I'm not there, well, you guys can figure it out.
