    RE: Regarding the recent downtime...

I've heard from a key source that the simfile database exists in some form currently.

Would it be possible (at all) to put the database up for a week or so, so people who uploaded files can retrieve them? I know I uploaded countless files, and I would love the chance to retrieve them. I also know that there are many others who share my view.

The key source is incorrect. It's gone.

does FFR really benefit from moving to SSDs? I doubt we can even notice the difference.

if you had a shitty connection a week ago and the same shitty connection today, you won't see a difference

Muahaha my ritual to resurrect the R2 engine worked. For my next ritual I'll require a blood sacrifice. Who wants vidchat back???

also if this is seriously the reason the site is being wonky, then I'm not even mad.

No. Once flash loads it has nothing to do with the harddrive anymore.
